日本三大絣の一つである 備後絣に付いて知りたく伺いました。 1790年江戸時代に高価(絹織物) な衣服の着用禁止令が出なければこの様な綿絣は出来なかったのだな〜と思います。

見学していた小一時間、私一人で貸し切りの状態でした。コロナ禍なので、博物館前の銅像もちゃんとマスクをしています。 小さな博物館ですが、私には興味深い展示が幾つもありました。特に二子塚古墳を始め数々の古墳の発掘状況や石室の写真、尾市一号古墳の復元模型、相方城の復元模型などです。それに備後絣の大生産地だった歴史も初めて学べました。すごいですね。 二子塚古墳、尾市一号古墳、相方城の三カ所は現地を訪問しており、いずれもなかなか興味深い史跡でしたが、博物館の説明や模型を見て一層理解を深めることが出来ました。他にも立派な石室をもつ古墳が沢山あることが判ったので、それらも見学に行ってみたいと思っています。
