The History of Iwai Onsen, a Mysterious Hot Spring
Iwai Onsen is known as the oldest hot spring in San'in region, with a history dating back to the time of Fujiwara no Fuyuhisa in the Heian period. Fuyuhisa discovered Iwai Onsen to cure his own skin disease and spread its benefits to many people. Iwai Onsen, along with its mysterious source, has brought healing and health to people. Feel the history and unique tradition of "yukamuri" while experiencing the charm of Iwai Onsen.

Access

Access to Iwai Onsen, Easy to Visit
Access to Iwai Onsen is convenient by car or train. If coming by car, take the Chugoku Expressway from Osaka and exit at one of the following ICs: Fukusaki, Sayo, Yamazaki, or Tsuyama. It takes about 2 hours from any of these exits to reach Iwai Onsen. From Kyoto, take National Route 9 and pass through Fukuchiyama to arrive in about 4 hours. From Yonago, take National Route 9 and arrive at Iwai Onsen in about 2 hours. If coming by train, take the Super Hakuto Limited Express from Kyoto and arrive at Tottori Station in about 3 hours. Transfer to the JR Sanin Line and arrive at Iwami Station in about 20 minutes. From there, take a bus to Iwai Onsen for about 10 minutes. After getting off at "Iwai Onsen," it's just a 1-minute walk to the hot spring area. If using the bus from Tottori Station Bus Terminal, it takes about 60 minutes. Taxis are also available from JR Iwami Station and take about 7 minutes to arrive.

We would like to introduce Iwaiya, which offers convenient parking to everyone visiting Iwai Onsen. Iwaiya has a free parking lot near the building that can accommodate up to 15 cars. No advance reservation is required, so feel free to come and visit. The parking lot is provided to support your comfortable stay, and it's also convenient for accessing Iwai Onsen. You can enjoy the hot springs to your heart's content without worrying about your car.

温泉、お料理、お部屋、サービス全て満足です。館内のところどころに生けられた花や置き物、お料理、器などのセンスが良く、とても居心地が良かったです。温泉は熱すぎないお湯加減でゆっくり過ごせました。浴場にあるステンドグラスもステキです。接客も心がこもっていて、また来たいと思いました。大雪で旅館に行き着くのは本当に大変でしたが、この雪景色、素朴な木造建物の風情を更に増し、来てよかった。来れてよかった。

早めに到着して、まずはゆっくり温泉に入ってのんびり。夕食は食べられる量を考えて、焼きガニ中心のコースをチョイス。スタッフが少しずついい感じに焼いてくれる。ぜいたく。鍋なしでも、刺身、天ぷら、牛しゃぶ…等、美味しくお腹いっぱい。カニと温泉はハズレなし。周りに何もないのもいい

蟹づくしのお料理をお願いしました。 食べ尽くせない程の「蟹づくし」で大満足です。お風呂は、貸切風呂と時間(20時に)で男女交代する大風呂があります。両方の大風呂に割と深いお風呂があります。お風呂内で源泉パック(お顔の)ができるようにアメニティーが置かれていました。建物全体は歴史•趣のある建物です。したがって段差、階段があります。エレベーターの設備は無いので段差がきつい方には不向きです。館内は清潔でよく手入れされていて気持ちいいです。 ロビー脇に、20時までフリーでいただける喫茶エリアがありました。 スタッフの方々はとても感じが良く気持ちよく滞在できました。
