北長門海岸国定公園は、日本海に面して約90kmにもおよび、隆起と沈没を繰り返してきたため、複雑な海岸線を有し、美しく豊かな自然が随所に残されています。角島もそのような自然が残された島で、対馬暖流と山陰冷水塊の影響を受けて、多様な動植物が生息しています。 この島では縄文時代早期にはすでに人と自然との共生が始まっており、人々は豊かな自然の恵みとともに歴史を刻み、文化を育んできています。つのしま自然館は、こうした北長門海岸国定公園の自然や角島のかけがえのない財産をわかりやすく効果的に紹介し、自然そのものに対する理解を深め、学習することができる北長門海岸国定公園の中核施設です。小さな子どもでも楽しめる「おもしろガイド」を行っています。

館内の奥に海が眺められるカウンターがあります。館長さんが沢山色んな説明をして下さるので楽しい時間を過ごせます。 伺った日は曇り空だったのですが天気が良いときっと絶景の施設だと思います。
