立派な本堂のあるお寺。 宇治川沿いの道から、少し奥まった場所に小さな山門があり、大きく立派な本堂。 残っているのが、山門と本堂のみとのこと。 御朱印をいただきましたが、観の字の跳ねが僕好みです。

前から気になり 行きたいと思い 行動に移しましたが 行ってみて良かったです(^^) ロウバイの香りが敷地全体に香り 梅を見たい人や マターリ過ごすには良い場所です

【恵心院】 当寺のはじまりは、弘化12年(821)に買言の開祖弘法大師によって開かれた古刹龍泉寺と伝えられていますが、やがて、「往生要集」の編者として名高い恵心僧部源言によって再興され、恵心院と称するようになったと伝えられています。 源は、宇治川に大した源氏物語字治十帖のヒロイン浮舟を助け、新たな道を歩ませることとなった横川の僧都のモデルともいわれています。近世にはいると、春との縁故もあり、宇治茶師上林一門の後援を受けました本堂には平安時代後期の木造十一面観音立像が安置されています。
