This shrine enshrines Sugawara no Michizane, who is also known as the god of learning. Along the way to the main hall, there are many spots where you can enjoy nature, such as the 170-year-old Kirishima azalea, the Nishikieien maple garden, and the Yajo Pond where you can observe aquatic creatures.

Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine is a shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, known as the god of learning. Especially during exam season, many students from all over the country visit to seek its blessings. In addition, there is a statue of a cow with a connection to Sugawara no Michizane inside the shrine grounds. The statue, called the "Nade-ushi" (stroking cow), is said to be able to cure illnesses and injuries in the area where it is stroked, so be sure to give it a stroke when you visit.

The Kirishima azaleas at Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine are in full bloom from late April to early May. The bright red flowers that bloom in a corridor are impressive and breathtaking. The shrine grounds have about 100 Kirishima azaleas that are about 170 years old, and they bloom like a bright red wall in the spring. In addition to the spring cherry blossoms, there are various flowers that bloom throughout the year, such as iris in the rainy season. It's a graceful temple where you can enjoy interacting with nature.

At Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine, in addition to the main hall where Sugawara no Michizane is enshrined and where you can expect academic success, there are various power spots. The sub-shrine enshrines six shrines and one Jizo with various benefits, such as warding off evil, promoting business prosperity, and promoting the arts. If you have time after visiting the main hall, please be sure to visit the sub-shrine.

Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine is a shrine with a vast site and blessed with nature. In front of the shrine is the "Yajo Pond," which was built in 1638 by Prince Chichibu Yajo, who built the Katsura Imperial Villa. The pond, which offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains, also serves as the front yard of Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine. Near the pond, there is also an aquatic plant garden where you can enjoy viewing the rich ecosystem and plants of Nagaoka.

On the other hand, the torii gate located at the northeast entrance of the shrine grounds was built during the Edo period. 20-Minute Walk from Nagaokakyo Station
Nagaoka Hachimangu Shrine is a historic shrine located southwest of the center of Kyoto City. It can be reached by a 20-minute walk from either the JR Tokaido Line's "Nagaokakyo Station" or the Hankyu Kyoto Line's "Nagaoka Tenjin Station". If you feel that it's a bit far to walk from the station, it's recommended to use a taxi. For those coming by car, it's about a 5-minute drive north from the Kyoto Jukan Expressway's "Nagaokakyo IC". Parking is available in the shrine's parking lot.

長岡天満宮のツツジを見に行ってきました! 少し散り始めてたけど、それでも境内は真っ赤でめちゃくちゃきれい。ツツジの赤が濃くて、写真より本物の方が断然すごい! 人はそこそこ多くて、ゆったり見られるって感じではなかったけど、混雑ってほどでもなくて、ちゃんと立ち止まって写真も撮れました。タイミングよく行けたかも。 池の周りや緑も気持ちよくて、ちょっとだけ非日常を味わえる場所でした

真っ赤なきりしまツツジが満開でした。 20250425時点で見頃です。 多くの方で賑わってました。 きりしまツツジの御朱印もありましたので、頂いてきました。 紅葉の季節にも綺麗そうな予感。 境内に幸せオーラが漂ってました♥

ベンチでくつろぐ人、犬の散歩をしている人などもいて、地元の人々の憩いの場としても利用されている感じでした。 まだ訪れたときは梅や桜は咲いていませんでしたが、のどかな雰囲気で居心地が良かったです。 大きな鳥居に迎えられ参拝。 大きな池がありその上に桟橋のような道がありました。 池は綺麗で、鴨などもおり心が和みました。 奥に行くと本殿があります。 朱色で威厳のある佇まいでした。 奥には公園などもあり、使い勝手も良いです。 侘びのある錦景苑や弁天池などリラックスできるスポットがたくさんあります。 疲れたときなどは気軽に訪れてみてください
