萬葉集そのものに触れたければこちらかな。 小さなこじんまりとした記念館。 とても手入れが行き届いている。 入って左には先生の生前の動画が再生されており、選ばれた萬葉歌が数首パネルで紹介されている。 萬葉集そのものに触れたい方にはこちらの方が良いかも。 派手な仕組みは無いがシンプルに萬葉歌に馴染める。 万葉集を一般に広められた犬養孝先生の記念館で蔵書数は圧巻! この様な施設が無料なのが信じられない。 村民愛に支えられているのだろう。 ただ伺うと村は過疎化が進んでいるとのこと。 どうすれば継続できるだろう? 幼い頃、犬養先生を「万葉の旅」と言うテレビ番組を今は亡き祖母、今の自分よりもかなり若い頃の母と視てた。 一歩足を踏み得れた瞬間その頃の記憶が蘇った。、 大事な場所になりそうだ。

開店間もないカフェの様な綺麗で落ち着いた空間です。令和6年4月から村営になっているようです。 万葉集好きの方には垂涎の場所かも。 近くのバス停でバス待ちしている万葉集に興味の無い方も立ち寄ってみては。

入場無料の公共スペースです 犬養先生が快活に講演されてるビデオが流されてます。 公共感が漂い、ほのぼのしてます。 カフェスペースで卵がけご飯500円をいただきました。
