Panoramic Views of Choshi Town and the Horizon

Choshi Port Tower Panoramic Views of Choshi Town and the Horizon
The main attraction is undoubtedly the breathtaking view of Choshi that can be seen from the 4th floor observation room, 47 meters above ground level! From the 360-degree glass-walled observation room, you can enjoy views of the natural landscape where the Tone River and the Pacific Ocean meet, the townscape of Choshi along the horizon, the scenery of Kashimanada, and the sight of fishing boats entering and leaving Choshi fishing port below. As the view differs depending on the direction, let's enjoy various views while walking around the observation deck! Depending on the weather, you may even be able to see Mt. Fuji or Mt. Tsukuba in the distance!
Point 2

Shop at the Adjacent Wasse 21!

Choshi Port Tower Shop at the Adjacent Wasse 21!
Next to the Port Tower is a market called "Wasse 21," where you can head out for shopping through the passage after enjoying the magnificent view. The market has a variety of shops selling fresh seafood, processed seafood products such as side dishes, and souvenirs unique to Choshi. On the third Sunday of every month, they hold a powerful tuna dissection show and a free tasting time. There is also a restaurant in the building where you can enjoy delicious seafood dishes caught in front of Choshi Fishing Port, making it a recommended spot for lunch after sightseeing.
Point 3

Date with Your Partner at Fukuura Cape

Choshi Port Tower Date with Your Partner at Fukuura Cape
Standing atop a cape once known as "Fukuura Cape" is the Port Tower! At the observation space, there is a spot where couples and lovers can take cute commemorative photos with the ocean blue scenery in the background. Taking a photo under the gorgeous couple arch will surely strengthen the bond between the two of you! After descending from the Port Tower, it's recommended to take a leisurely stroll on the Fukuura Cape embankment or visit the strata that were deposited approximately 16 million years ago, located just below. Enjoy a walking date!

On the second floor exhibition space of Port Tower, various events and exhibitions are held depending on the season, such as a monster exhibition for children during summer vacation or a romantic piano live performance during Valentine's Day. There are a wide range of events, including art exhibitions such as paintings and photography, as well as anime-related exhibitions. To fully enjoy your visit to Port Tower, it's recommended to check the event information beforehand.
Point 5

Limited Time Offer: Christmas Illumination

Choshi Port Tower Limited Time Offer: Christmas Illumination
Every year from December 1st to 25th, we hold an illumination event where the entire tower is lit up like a Christmas tree. The building also projects a project mapping of Choshi's symbol, "fish," swimming, allowing you to enjoy a fantastic tower that is unique to Choshi. The halls and exhibition rooms inside the building are also decorated for Christmas, so be sure to enjoy the interior as well. Additionally, if you go to see the illumination in front of Choshi Station, you can enjoy the winter night even more.

Access

Choshi Port Tower Enjoy the Scenery of Choshi on the Way There!
Enjoy the Scenery of Choshi on the Way There!
If you're traveling by car, head towards the easternmost point of Kanto by taking the Higashi-Kanto Expressway "Sawara-Katori IC" or the Choshi Expressway "Yokoshibahikari IC" for about 60 minutes while enjoying the scenery of Choshi! If you're using public transportation, it's a 20-minute walk from the Kasa-Kami Kuroi Station on the Choshi Electric Railway, or take the bus from the No. 4 bus stop at JR "Choshi Station" to "Port Center" and you'll see the Port Tower right after getting off at the last stop. While it's safe to transfer between buses and trains, we recommend renting an electric bicycle from Choshi Station and heading there! You can enjoy a pleasant cycling experience while feeling the scent of the sea, and you'll arrive at the tower in about 20 minutes. Since the stay time at the Port Tower is also about an hour, you can freely access the surrounding tourist spots without worrying about the time of the train or bus!
