建築がとても面白い美術館です。それほど古くない’95年に建てられた展示施設を現代美術に合うようにリノベーションした建築です。既存の曲線的な特徴ある骨格は残しながら、直方体のボリュームを増築してつなぎ合わせることによって、独創的でいてローコストで建てられました。 小規模な美術館ながら内部空間は曲線と直線が交差するダイナミックなもので、地下から屋上に続く動線も面白く、美術を体感できます。 ホワイトキューブの方が美術そのものを堪能できるという見方もできるかとは思いますが、リノベーションされた空間固有の面白さも今後ますます重要になっていくと思います。

自然の中にポツンとある美術館。湖畔がとても素敵で、都会の喧騒を忘れられます。その場で予約したら釣りやボートにも乗れるので家族連れもおすすめです。

高滝湖の湖畔に建つ現代アートの美術館です。丁度展示の入れ替え時期で、常設展のみは200円でした。美術館の建物自体がアート作品になっており、目の前の高滝湖にも水中からにょきっと大きな彫刻作品たちがたっており、周辺一体が美術館になっていました。天気が良くてとても晴れ晴れと気持ちの良い時間を過ごせました。敷地内のイタリアンレストランはガラス張りで湖を眺めながらピザが食べられます。中にはいりませんでしたが、ドリンクやアイスクリームをテイクアウトすると湖畔のベンチで食べられます。
