SNS buzz! Light shining into heart-shaped cave!
This spot became a hot topic on social media due to the heart-shaped appearance created by the light shining into the cave and reflecting on the water's surface. It is said that the best time to capture the heart shape in photos is early morning in March and September.

Highlights

Point 1

Mystical "Kameiwa Cave" with a Cave of Light

Nomizo Falls Mystical "Kameiwa Cave" with a Cave of Light
The mystical sight that appears deep in the forest is said to resemble the world of a Studio Ghibli film! The official name of this famous scenery, where light shines through the cave, is "Kameiwa Cave," located in the Shimizu River Square. Apparently, it became confused with the Nogorigo Falls, also located in the Shimizu River Square, as it spread on social media...! It's a spot like a phantom that can only be seen in limited times when the conditions are right to see the heart-shaped scenery, but it shows different expressions depending on the season and time of day, so you can enjoy different charms whenever you visit. While enjoying the scenery and taking photos, be sure to also search for the rock that resembles a turtle inside the cave.
Point 2

Find the Heart-Shaped Rock at "Nomizo Falls"!

Find the Heart-Shaped Rock at "Nomizo Falls"!
The small waterfall on the promenade leading from the parking lot to the Kameiwa Cave is the real "Nomizo Falls". If you look closely at the gentle flow of water, you can find a heart-shaped rock face. In addition, there is a "Bell of Fortune" installed above Nomizo Falls. If you ring the bell as a commemoration, you may be able to call in good luck along with the sound of the bell echoing in the forest!
Point 3

Enjoy the Summer Tradition of Firefly Watching

Nomizo Falls Enjoy the Summer Tradition of Firefly Watching
Inside the Shimizu Stream Plaza, there is a long wooden walkway called the "Firefly Village". Underneath it is a wetland area where various creatures such as frogs, crabs, beetles, and stag beetles live, but firefly watching is especially popular. The types of fireflies that can be seen vary depending on the season, but it is said that they are often seen from around 7-9 pm on days with low wind and high humidity from early to late summer. During summer vacation, why not go bug hunting with your children or enjoy the fantastic dance of fireflies and appreciate the nature of summer?
Point 4

Enjoy Beautiful Autumn Leaves!

Nomizo Falls Enjoy Beautiful Autumn Leaves!
Nogozaki Falls is a charming spot with nature's beauty throughout the four seasons, but it's especially recommended during the autumn foliage season. The collaboration between the vibrant red and yellow trees and the waterfall is so beautiful that you'll want to capture it with your camera! Chiba Prefecture is said to have the latest autumn foliage season in Japan, and the best time to see the autumn leaves at Nogozaki Falls is from late November to early December, a little later than other places. Even if you missed the autumn leaves this year, you might still be able to catch them here!
Point 5

Play in the Water and Catch Fish with Your Children

Nomizo Falls Play in the Water and Catch Fish with Your Children
In Kiyomizu Keiryu Park, there are several calm rivers flowing, where you can enjoy playing in the water during the summer. Although they are not specifically managed as a river play area, the water is clear and there are many shallow areas, making it safe for even small children to play. Of course, it's also perfect for couples or friends to cool off by dipping their feet in the water! Occasionally, small fish swim by, making it fun to try catching them. Don't forget to bring towels, a change of clothes, and water play gear such as life jackets for your children!
Point 6

Go to a Natural Hot Spring Right After Sightseeing!

Nomizo Falls Go to a Natural Hot Spring Right After Sightseeing!
After enjoying nature and playing a lot, why not heal your tiredness for the day at the natural hot spring, "Nomizo Onsen Senju no Yu," located at the entrance of Shimizu Keiryu Hiroba? From the bath, you can enjoy a view of the rich natural forest through the window. The 100% natural hot spring water has effects on shoulder stiffness, joint pain, and skin inflammation. Although many people come for a day trip, you can also enjoy staying overnight or having a meal, so it's a good idea to use it according to your travel plans!

Access

Nomizo Falls If You Want to See the Early Morning Scenery, Take a Car!
If You Want to See the Early Morning Scenery, Take a Car!
We recommend going to "Nomigawa Waterfall" by car rather than using public transportation. This is because Nomigawa Waterfall is located in the natural and mountainous area of Kimitsu City, and it takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes on foot from the nearest station, JR Kururi Line "Kazusa Kameyama Station". Basically, you need to take a reservation-only (shared) "Kimitsu City Demand Taxi" from the station. There are also few trains, and it takes a total of about 2 and a half hours from Tokyo, so it might be tough to see the early morning "heart-shaped scenery" by train. It's easy to access by car, and it's perfect for touring by motorcycle as it takes about an hour and a half from Tokyo by car. If you don't mind not seeing the early morning scenery, there are also high-speed buses and day trip bus tours from Tokyo, so it's worth considering using them!
