The winter illumination held every year from November to mid-March is synonymous with Tokyo German Village! It's been selected as one of the "Top Three Illuminations in Kanto" many times, and the magnificent world of light that covers an area equivalent to Tokyo Dome is breathtakingly beautiful. You can enjoy the entire view of the picturesque landscape of light from the observation deck or the Ferris wheel in the park! You can also enjoy a light and sound show in the area lined with German-style buildings! Or take a romantic stroll through the rainbow tunnel and take some photogenic photos! The fairytale-like atmosphere, reminiscent of Germany's countryside, and the flower spots scattered throughout the park are also charming. The scenery of pink-colored buildings lining the top of a green hill is cute and gives off an atmosphere as if you've come to visit Germany. At the "Flower Garden" and "Rose Garden" located just inside the entrance gate, you can enjoy a stroll or take photos while being healed by the seasonal flowers such as tulips and sunflowers, and the gorgeous rose garden. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the cute flowers.

Experience Harvesting Crops Grown in a German Village

At the harvest fields in the German Village, various crops are grown depending on the season. In early summer, you can experience "potato digging," in autumn, "peanut and sweet potato digging," from October to December, "mandarin orange picking," and all year round except for July and August, "shiitake mushroom hunting." The basic fee is based on the amount of harvest, but "mandarin orange picking" is an all-you-can-eat style with no time limit for only 300 yen per person! For an additional 600 yen, you can also take home a bag of harvested mandarin oranges, making it highly recommended. All of the harvest experiences are very popular and once they're gone, they're gone, so it's a good idea to inquire about the harvest situation in advance before going!

A Dog-Lover's Dream: "Wanchan Land"

At "Wanchan Land," located in a corner of the vast grounds, you can let your pet run to their heart's content in the all-grass dog run or enjoy a simulated pet experience by renting one of the dogs living here and taking them for a walk. If you plan to use the dog run, there are several precautions to be aware of, such as the need for proof of vaccination, so it's best to check in advance. Also, in general, you cannot bring your dog to areas other than "Wanchan Land" within the German Village grounds. However, they also offer temporary pet care, so you can leave your beloved dog here and enjoy playing in other areas with peace of mind.

Enjoy a Family Camping Trip at Germany Village!

In the "Gigi no Mori" area, families can enjoy camping in tents on Saturdays and the day before holidays. The forest is full of fun features that make you want to go on an adventure, such as handmade tree houses, athletic equipment, and mountain huts that remind you of the grandfather's childhood playtime. The camping area has basic facilities such as showers, a kitchen, and a washing machine and dryer, but camping equipment is not available for rent, so you need to bring everything yourself. After harvesting fresh vegetables during the day or purchasing authentic German sausages at the souvenir shop, it's great to have a BBQ for dinner! After playing to your heart's content, why not spend the night in the great outdoors and create wonderful memories with your family?

At the center of German Village, the "Marktplatz" area, you'll find various restaurants, cafeterias, souvenir shops, and food stalls selling snacks, allowing you to enjoy German food culture. Among them, we highly recommend trying authentic sausages with German beer at the restaurant or at the summer beer garden venue, where you can compare different types of beer. If you can't drink and drive, consider buying some souvenirs to enjoy German cuisine at home. In addition, they also offer rare German seasonings and goods, so be sure to check them out! Of course, not only German cuisine but also Japanese and Western dishes such as pizza, hamburgers, udon, and yakisoba are available at some shops.

Plan Your Day's Budget and Have Fun!

The basic fee for Germany Village is the entrance fee for each person (800 yen for adults, 400 yen for children aged 4 to elementary school age) plus a parking fee (1,000 yen for one car). However, during the winter illumination period, special fees are set, and the parking fee including the entrance fee is 3,000 yen per ordinary passenger car. For those who come to the park by public transportation such as trains, the entrance fee is 500 yen per person (aged 4 and above). In addition, if you want to enjoy various experiences such as paid attractions, mini golf, fishing, and harvest picking, you will need to pay separately each time. In addition to amusement attractions, activities such as grass sledding and boating are also charged separately. If you want to enjoy all the attractions to the fullest, it's recommended to purchase a 1-day passport (2,000 yen for those aged 4 and above) that allows unlimited access to 13 attractions or a ticket that allows access to 18 attractions a certain number of times. As paying for each activity individually for the whole family can add up to a considerable amount, it's a good idea to plan ahead and make use of the free play areas.

Recommended to Move Around by Car to Each Area!

The required time at the German Village varies greatly depending on the purpose and how you want to enjoy it. For families who want to play to their heart's content, focusing on attractions and the children's zoo, the grounds are very large and even a full day may not be enough time. However, for a couple's date, you can play around the park lightly, have a delicious dinner, and see the illumination before leaving! In this case, you can enjoy yourself for a half day if you visit in the afternoon. If you visit only to see the illumination at night, you can enjoy it fully in about 1-2 hours even if you walk around. You can also move around the park by car, and there are parking lots near each area, so it's a good idea to efficiently move around the large park by car!

Enjoy Interacting with Cute Animals!

At the "Children's Zoo" located within the park, you can interact with cute animals such as mascot mini-pigs, goats, sheep, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, and maras by feeding them or holding the guinea pigs. The goat's aerial walk at the goat corner and the mini-pig show held regularly are very popular events! There is no additional admission fee for the children's zoo, so you can easily visit and meet the animals anytime you want!
