ミズバショウの群落がありました。 新潟県から移植され、大事に保護されてきたようです。 訪問したのは3月29日でしたが、泥水の中にクラゲみたいなのがブヨブヨ沈んでいます。引き上げると、トウキョウサンショウウオの卵塊!茨城の豊かな自然を垣間見ました。

植栽した水芭蕉が見られる高層湿原です。 可憐な水芭蕉の他に、生き生きとした苔も見所ですので是非。 道路の幅が狭いので気をつけてください。

きれいな湿原です。乾燥化が進んでいるため保全活動がなされているようです。生き物がたくさんいる湿地帯が末永く守られる事を願います。 路側帯に駐車スペースがあり、野口雨情の歌碑があります。簡易トイレが設置されていました。NTTドコモ回線を使用している携帯では、圏外だったので要注意。
