景色良い。 室町時代には金沢八景の一つに数えられた景勝地だったので、明治期には伊藤博文公が別宅を構えた場所。 江戸時代初期にキャンプ場辺りには紀州徳川家の別荘があり、野島稲荷神社は鎮守の神様だった。 頂上付近には江戸時代に尼寺が有ったが、軍用地として接収され廃寺に成った。 古くから水軍の基地でもあり戦国時代には北条家と里見家が和平していた時代には、野島と上総国に直行便の船が往来していた。 金沢文庫地名由来の稱名寺〜町屋〜野島にかけて鎌倉時代より武家文化の醸成地だったので、沢山の寺院と神社が明治以前は今より更に多く存在した名所。

こちらは2024年08月20日の訪問となります。”島”の名通り、周囲を海に面しています。 展望台、掩体壕、ビオトープ、海岸、伊藤博文別邸、市内最古の貝塚などが詰め込まれた欲張りセット公園です。 戦後間もなく市が立てた大臨海公園の計画に基き、国有地の無償貸与や隣接民有地の買収などを経て昭和30年から作られたとか。 展望台への道は結構しんどいです。季節によっては蜂も出るようですのでそこのとこご注意下さりませ。

BBQ🍖が出来るよ!朝は潮干狩りもやってる。リヤカーで荷物は運べるけど、4つぐらいしか無いから週末や、夏休みなんかは足らなくなる。 売店もあるけど品数は少なめ。。。 研修センターでは、その名の通り研修ができ宿泊も可能だよ。
