Highlights

Point 1

The Only Place in Yokohama to Enjoy Swimming in the Ocean!

Umi no Park The Only Place in Yokohama to Enjoy Swimming in the Ocean!
During the summer season, the seaside park is a popular spot for locals and tourists to enjoy swimming in the ocean. The beach opens on the second Saturday of July and is open as a swimming beach until August 31st (although this may vary depending on the year). The waves at the seaside park are gentle and the water is shallow, making it a safe place for families with children to enjoy swimming. The beach is open from 8:30am to 5:00pm, but please note that the showers and changing rooms close at 4:30pm. There is also a "Nagisa Plaza" within the seaside park, which has warm water showers and changing rooms. This area is recommended for those who want to use a warm water shower with a changing room, although it is not free (200 yen for adults and 100 yen for children).
Point 2

Get a Large Amount of Clams with Clam Digging!

Umi no Park Get a Large Amount of Clams with Clam Digging!
At the seaside park, you can also enjoy clam digging. The clam digging season is generally from mid-March to around June, but it's popular at the seaside park because it can be enjoyed from March to mid-September. One of the attractions is that clam digging at the seaside park is free, so you can easily experience it! In addition, radiation concentration and toxicity tests are conducted by the city of Yokohama on clams caught on the sandy beach, so safety is also taken into consideration. When clam digging, you will need tools to dig the sand, as well as nets or buckets to put the clams in, which are also sold at the seaside park's shops. However, the number of items for sale is limited, so it's a good idea to bring your own.
Point 3

Enjoy Delicious Oysters to Your Heart's Content!

Umi no Park Enjoy Delicious Oysters to Your Heart's Content!
At the "Kaki Koya" in the Shibaguchi parking lot of the Sea Park, you can enjoy exquisite oysters during the winter season for a limited time! At this facility, you can savor various seafood delicacies such as fresh oysters cultivated in Sanriku Yamada Bay in Iwate Prefecture, Sanriku scallops, and live turban shells. The oysters with shells are steamed once in the store before being served, so you can enjoy them with peace of mind compared to raw oysters. In addition to outdoor and indoor seating, there are also seats where you can enjoy a meal with your pet, so it's recommended to enjoy oysters after taking a walk in the Sea Park with your pet. The business period is from November to March (closed from December 30th to January 2nd), and the business hours are from 11:00 to 16:00 on weekdays (last order at 15:30) and from 11:00 to 21:00 on Fridays, weekends, and holidays (last order at 20:30). If you love oysters, please come and visit!
Point 4

Enjoy a BBQ Surrounded by Nature!

Umi no Park Enjoy a BBQ Surrounded by Nature!
The park by the sea is a particularly popular spot in the summer, as it allows you to enjoy a barbecue without having to bring anything. Reservations are required, so be sure not to forget if you want to enjoy a barbecue. When making a reservation, you can choose between a "table reservation with food included" or a "table reservation only," allowing you to enjoy a barbecue according to your needs. However, it's important to note that if you order a food menu, each food set can be selected for a minimum of two people, but you cannot order less than a total of four people. At the store, you can rent a stove set and buy seasonings and alcoholic beverages, so even if you only reserve a table, you can still enjoy a barbecue by bringing your own food! The usage period is from March 18th to the end of the month, weekdays in November, and the 4th Saturday in August (the day of the fireworks display) from 10:00 to 15:00. From April to October, every day and on weekends and holidays in November, it is open from 10:00 to 13:00/14:30 to 17:30. Please note that it is closed for winter vacation from December 1st to the end of February.
Point 5

Water Play Area for Children to Enjoy!

At Nagisa Square Water Play Area in Kai no Koen, you can enjoy water play during the summer season! The artificial stream of water flowing ensures that even toddlers can enjoy water play with peace of mind. The fountain flows for 20 minutes between 9:30 and 16:30, so children can enjoy it without getting bored. When you want to take a break, it's recommended to rest in the nearby shade of the trees and relax while feeling the flow of water. There is also a shop in front of you that sells snacks, ice cream, and toys that can be used for water play, making it even more attractive.
