距離が遠くてよく拝見できませんでしたが、教科書で見かけたことのある拝殿に参拝でき、とても清らかな気持ちになりました。 手前の梅の木に、皆さんがカメラを向けていました。

秋のご開帳の日に行ってまいりました。 お釈迦様の歯(仏舎利)を納めていることから舎利殿と呼ばれているそうです。 天正元年(1573年)北条氏康によって西御門にあった尼寺 太平寺の仏殿がこちらに移築されたそうです。 天気も良くゆっくり拝観することができました。 サワラ木葺の屋根か非常に美しかったです♪

コロナ禍のため宝物風入は中止でしたが、舎利殿の特別拝観は実施されました。 文化の日の朝一番で訪問、この時期の紅葉はまだまだですが、朝方まで降った雨のお陰で木々はしっとりと良い感じ。 まだ日本史の教科書に載っているのか、年に数回しか拝むことのできない舎利殿は山門から入ってずっと奥の左。思ったよりも小さな国宝は凛としていながらも反り返った裳階がリズミカルで軽快な印象。思わず見とれてしまいます。 ただ現地のお坊さんにとっては、舎利殿は入口?で無学祖元像が安置されているその奥の開山堂の方が重要なのだとか。残念ながらこちらは拝観はできません。 この時期は円覚寺の拝観料の他に舎利殿の拝観料、御朱印も円覚寺と舎利殿があり、結構お金がかかります。まあ年に1回、貴重な文化財に触れることのできる機会なので良しとしましょう。年末年始は混みそうなので、また来年。
