Highlights

Point 1

Giant Tank for Viewing Sagami Bay in its Natural State

Enoshima Aquarium Giant Tank for Viewing Sagami Bay in its Natural State
While the aquarium displays various marine creatures, the most notable attraction is the "Sagami Bay Large Tank." With two wave-making devices constantly generating waves, the tank is designed to allow visitors to view Sagami Bay, which spreads out in front of the Shin-Enoshima Aquarium, in its natural state. Visitors can view the waves created by the wave-making devices right near the entrance. The power of the waves is captivating and children are sure to be mesmerized. Visitors can also see whale sharks and manta rays swimming leisurely in the tank, coming right up to the glass. The sparkling schools of sardines are also a must-see.
Point 2

Artistic Dolphin Performance Show

Enoshima Aquarium Artistic Dolphin Performance Show
The performance of the dolphins against the backdrop of Enoshima and Shonan's seas is a must-see! The dolphins will showcase their natural movements, communication with their trainers, and aerial spins and turns. In addition, the performance includes the dolphins' vocalizations in sync with the music, allowing the audience to become one with the show. As the dolphin show is popular, seats may fill up quickly, so be sure to check the schedule in advance.
Point 3

Jellyfish Fantasy Hall, Also Featured in a Drama!

Enoshima Aquarium Jellyfish Fantasy Hall, Also Featured in a Drama!
The Jellyfish Fantasy Hall has an incredibly fantastical atmosphere. It's a spot that was even featured in the 2011 drama "Nagareboshi". The beauty and mysterious allure of jellyfish is further enhanced by the music, creating a space that you'll want to gaze at forever. In the center of the Jellyfish Fantasy Hall is a round tank called "Jellyfish Planet - Planet of the Jellyfish". It's a spherical tank designed to beautifully display jellyfish. Just watching the jellyfish float and sway is enough to make you feel relaxed and wonderstruck, making it a popular spot at the Enoshima Aquarium. While the types of jellyfish on display may vary, around 14 different kinds are always on exhibit.
Point 4

Exclusive Silverside Science only seen here

The only place where you can see a permanent exhibition of "silverside," a specialty product of Shonan Enoshima, is at the Shin-Enoshima Aquarium! "Silverside Science," which could only be realized in Shonan Enoshima, allows you to see the growth process of silversides from birth to the dinner table, deepening your understanding of their ecology. A must-see spot when visiting the Shin-Enoshima Aquarium, where you can actually see the silverside schools, movements, and growth process, is a valuable experience.
Point 5

Touch Pool, a Popular Spot for Children

This spot allows you to directly touch the creatures that live in the rocky areas of Sagami Bay and Enoshima. You can have a valuable experience touching creatures such as starfish, sea cucumbers, and even cat sharks. The cat sharks don't seem to mind being touched, and you can feel their rough shark skin. Sometimes, you can also find the unusual egg shells of cat sharks nearby, so please observe them together. The pool is set low, making it easy for even small children to touch, making it popular among families.
Point 6

Create Artwork of Sea Creatures

The Nagisa Experience and Learning Center is an experiential exhibition facility where you can learn about the creatures and environment of the sea. Exhibits reproduce various elements of the coastal environment, such as the various creatures and plants that inhabit the coast around Enoshima, the terrain of rocks and sand, and the ebb and flow of the tide. On the first floor, there are seasonal experience programs, where you can make artwork inspired by sea creatures, as befits the New Enoshima Aquarium. Participation is by reservation, so don't forget to check the official website if you want to participate!
Point 7

Exciting Interactive Programs

Enoshima Aquarium Exciting Interactive Programs
画像引用:新江ノ島水族館
At Enoshima Aquarium, there are a variety of interactive programs, including "Shake Hands with Dolphins" for those aged 4 and up, "Touch Sea Turtles" limited to the first 10 people on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, and "Feeding Fish" which is available for all ages. "Shake Hands with Dolphins" and "Touch Sea Turtles" can be reserved three days in advance, but due to their popularity, it's recommended to reserve early once the schedule is decided! "Feeding Fish" is a program that even young children can enjoy, as the tanks are low. Fish food is sold at the nearby gachapon vending machines, and the program ends once the food for the day runs out. While no reservation is required, it often ends early, so it's recommended to arrive early if you want to experience "Feeding Fish"!

Plan to Spend 1.5 to 2 Hours Looking Around the Building
The time it takes to tour the building varies depending on what you want to see, but if you want to see the dolphin show, the Sagami Bay large aquarium, and the penguin show, plan to spend about 1.5 to 2 hours. If you participate in a workshop at Nagisa's experiential learning center or take a break at the cafe, your stay may be extended even further. Since many people plan to visit Enoshima besides the aquarium, it is recommended that you check the schedule of the dolphin show and plan ahead to see the areas you want to visit.
