Asami Reizo Established in 1890, a Long-Standing Shaved Ice Shop
At Asami Reizo, you can enjoy shaved ice made with natural ice, which is limited in availability throughout the country. Shaved ice made with natural ice doesn't have the typical brain freeze sensation and can be enjoyed with a crispy texture. The natural ice used is made with clean water from Chichibu, giving it a delicate and flavorful taste. Shaved ice made with such natural ice is incredibly delicious and is a must-visit spot when visiting Nagatoro.
Point 2

Delicious and Flavorful Menu with a Focus on Ingredients

At Asami Reizo, there are always a variety of menu options, making it quite difficult to decide. The most popular menu item is the "Kuramoto Hiden Mitsu," which allows you to taste the natural flavor of ice. Another feature is the homemade fruit syrup, which is made with a focus on ingredients and comes in various flavors such as mandarin orange, strawberry, peach, grape, and melon. The fruit syrup has a refreshing taste that will make you feel cool. In addition, the ice coffee with shaved ice on top has a unique appearance and goes well with shaved ice, making it a recommended accompaniment to your shaved ice.
Point 3

Stylish Interior Renovated from an Old Japanese House

One of the reasons why many people visit Asami Reizo Kanazaki Honten is its retro atmosphere and the garden that overflows with openness and a sense of Japanese style. The interior of the shop, which was renovated from an old Japanese house and storehouse, has a Japanese atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy not only natural shaved ice but also a retro atmosphere at the same time. In addition, you can enjoy shaved ice in the garden, which overflows with a sense of Japanese style and openness, and spend a relaxing time while feeling the Japanese atmosphere.
Point 4

Relatively Empty Hotozan Michi Store

Asazumi Reizo has two stores, not just the Kanazaki main store, but also the Hotozan Michi store. The Kanazaki main store tends to be more crowded than the Hotozan Michi store, so if you're not particular about going to the main store, we recommend going to the Hotozan Michi store! However, during the summer and on weekends and holidays, even the Hotozan Michi store can get quite crowded, with a wait time of about 1-2 hours, so we recommend going early in the day!
Point 5

In addition, Asami Reizo's homemade products such as syrup and yokan (sweet red bean jelly) are also recommended as souvenirs.

Required time

Recommended to Visit with Plenty of Time
Asami Reizo is a popular natural shaved ice shop in Nagatoro that attracts many visitors from the Kanto region throughout the year. Even on weekdays during the summer, there is a wait time of about 30 minutes, and during summer vacation or on weekends and holidays, the wait time can be 2-3 hours. Therefore, it is recommended to visit with plenty of time in your schedule. Also, once the shaved ice is sold out, the shop will close, so it's best to go as early as possible.
