Kegon Falls Beautiful Autumn Foliage Scenery!
During the autumn foliage season, the trees around Kegon Falls turn red and yellow, creating a very beautiful scenery. The foliage seen from the waterfall basin is so beautiful that it takes your breath away, almost like a painting. As it can get crowded during the foliage season, it's recommended to visit early. There are also many places in the surrounding area where you can enjoy the foliage, making it a highly recommended spot for those who want to fully enjoy the autumn in Nikko!
Point 2

Illuminated Kegon Falls at Night!

Illuminated Kegon Falls at Night!
Kegon Falls transforms into a fantastic sight when illuminated at night. The illuminated falls appear as if a curtain of light is hanging down into the basin, creating a romantic and dreamy atmosphere. During the autumn foliage season, you can also enjoy the beauty of the season along with the falls. The color of the light shining on the falls changes depending on the time of day, allowing you to enjoy different charms depending on the time of day.
Point 3

The Powerful and Abundant Kegon Falls

The Powerful and Abundant Kegon Falls
One of the highlights of Kegon Falls is the way its water volume changes with the seasons. Especially during the rainy season, the water volume increases, allowing you to see the powerful rapids. The sound of the water hitting the surrounding rocks as it flows out of the waterfall basin is truly impressive. Depending on the water volume, the water may flow down with a force similar to that of rapids, so we recommend checking the water volume when you visit!
Point 4

Sightseeing at Chuzenji Lake, a Must-See with Kegon Falls!

Sightseeing at Chuzenji Lake, a Must-See with Kegon Falls!
The recommended season for visiting Kegon Falls and Chuzenji Lake is from spring to autumn. In spring, you can enjoy cherry blossoms, while in summer, you can experience the refreshing greenery and cool breeze. In autumn, you can see the beautiful fall foliage, and in winter, you can enjoy the snowy scenery. As for how to tackle both spots, it's possible to visit Kegon Falls and Chuzenji Lake in one day, but if you have the time, it's recommended to take your time and enjoy both spots. Also, as both tourist spots are popular, it's recommended to visit them early in the day!
Point 5

The Slope You Pass When Heading to Kegon Falls!

The Slope You Pass When Heading to Kegon Falls!
The "Iroha Slope" is a slope that people have been visiting for worship and sightseeing since ancient times when heading from the city center of Nikko to Kegon Falls. The road from Iroha Slope to Kegon Falls offers a rich natural scenery, especially in autumn when the fall foliage is beautiful, and you can enjoy a variety of colorful views. The name of the slope comes from the fact that the first three characters, "i, ro, ha," are in the order of the Japanese syllabary, and is said to come from the "Iroha Poem," which represents the sequence of classical Japanese syllables. On top of the slope, there are tourist spots such as Nikko Sanrojo Temple and Chuzenji Lake where you can enjoy magnificent views, so we recommend visiting them!
