The history of Utsunomiya Futarayama Shrine is very ancient, and it is said to have been founded during the reign of Emperor Nintoku, who is famous for the Osenko burial mound. Located in the center of Utsunomiya City, the city developed around this shrine. The shrine's iron-made guardian dogs are also designated as important cultural properties by the government.

Utsunomiya Futarayama Shrine has various shrines and buildings of different sizes scattered throughout its grounds. Representative buildings include the main shrine, Kagura-den, Haiden, and the large torii gate. Of note is the large torii gate of Futarayama Shrine, which is known for its enormous size of 9.7 meters in height, 13.8 meters in width, and 90 centimeters in diameter of its pillars. In spring, the cherry blossoms in the grounds are in full bloom, making it possible to visit the shrine while enjoying the cherry blossoms. Passing through the large torii gate feels like entering a land of cherry blossoms.

日光の二荒山神社とは、全く別の神社。 宇都宮市内中心部にあり、古くから市民に愛されていると聞きました。規模感は中規模。いい神社でキチンとした神道をしていると思います。 ただ、スピリチュアル的にはあまり何も感じるとこはなかったです。御朱印書置きだけなのが残念なところでした。

宇都宮二荒山神社 秋の下野路。宇都宮二荒山神社は欠かせません。好天に恵まれて末院も一つ一つ丹念に詣でました。清々しい気持ちになりました。(2024年10月13日参拝) ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ 厄年厄祓 下野國一宮 宇都宮二荒山神社でお祓いをして頂きました。長女も妻も厄年なので、3人揃っての厄払いです。前厄の昨年は、宜しくないことも多々ありましたので、新年早々詣でた訳です。本年も、“天命を信じて人事を尽くす”を励行してまいります!(2023年1月2日参拝)

【栃木県宇都宮市の宇都宮二荒山神社を参拝】 今回で3回目の参拝となる宇都宮二荒山神社。 日光の二荒山神社は"ふたらさん"と読みますが、宇都宮の二荒山神社は"ふたあらやま"と読みます。 日光の二荒山と同じ読みだと思っていました。 宇都宮の二荒山神社は式内社で下野国一宮。旧社格は国幣中社で、現在は神社本庁の別表神社です。 御祭神は豊城入彦命。 創建は仁徳天皇41年と言い伝えられており、現在地に遷座したのは平安時代、承和5年(838年) ※NikonのフラッグシップミラーレスカメラZ9で撮影 使用レンズはF2.8 24‐70㎜の広角ズームレンズ
