At Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine, the "Fukagawa Hachiman Festival" is held mainly on August 15th. This festival is one of the three major festivals in Edo, along with Akasaka's Sanno Festival and Kanda Myojin's Kanda Festival, and is also known as the "Water-Splashing Festival." The unity of the town is created as the audience is showered with purifying water, and the atmosphere is lively like no other time. This festival, held once every three years, is full of excitement as the Hachiman Shrine's sacred palanquin is paraded and 53 town portable shrines gather for a joint parade. You can fully experience the Edo atmosphere as the festival's cry of "Wasshoi, Wasshoiyo" echoes throughout.

Tomio Hachiman Shrine is located in a prime location just a short walk from Monzen-Nakacho Station. If you're taking the train, there are three stations you can use: it's about a 3-minute walk from Monzen-Nakacho Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, about a 6-minute walk from Monzen-Nakacho Station on the Toei Oedo Line, and about a 15-minute walk from Etchujima Station on the JR Keiyo Line. It's also about a 15-minute drive from JR Tokyo Station. If you're taking the bus, take the Tokyo Station Marunouchi North Exit-bound buses of the To-22 and To-20 series, transfer to the To-07 bus at the front of Kinshicho Station, get off at Tomioka 1-chome, and it's a 2-minute walk from there. If you're driving, it's about 10 minutes from the Higashikozaki Interchange on the Metropolitan Expressway, about 5 minutes from the Kiba Ramp on the Metropolitan Expressway, and about 7 minutes from the Hayakawa Ramp on the Metropolitan Expressway. It's easy to access from anywhere in Tokyo, taking about 20 to 30 minutes by car from Haneda Airport.

富岡八幡宮に行きました‼️ 平日夕方4時半でした。 参拝客はほとんどいませんでした。 とても悲しい事件があったからかな。 手水舎は金の鳳凰。 しかも自動で出てきます。 お水にはお花がたくさん浮かんでいて、とても細やかな心遣いです。綺麗。 令和9年に鎮座400年になるらしく今工事をしていて残念ながら資料館も閉館しています。 伊東深水の獣王が見たかった💦 本殿は美しい。 外国人観光客もほとんど見かけなくてとても静かでした。

歴史は偉大で身内同士の殺人事件などものともせずに賑わっている。 大関石碑より目立たないところに横綱石碑もある。 その他、古い人形のお焚き上げを受け付けるところや、七福神とかもある。

高知の八幡宮さんが氏神様なので、八幡宮つながりで参拝させていただきました。 伊能忠敬の像があったり、昭和天皇の碑があったりで、歴史とかを知るにはいい場所です。
