初訪問!約800メートルの商店街でレトロ&最新を含めて沢山のお店が混在してます。 おばあちゃんの原宿…なんて言われてますが、若い世代の方が多くて活気あふれる印象でした。 時間に余裕があれば…2〜3時間は楽しめます。 美味しいパンとお煎餅を買ってきました。 人気の大福は、凄く混んでたのであきらめました。

おばあちゃんの原宿とか呼ばれて有名になった商店街。駅に近いあたりは建物も新しく、普通の駅前繁華街の雰囲気もありますが、少し奥に進めば衣料品店や履物店など、昔ながらのお店が並ぶ昭和のたたずまいになります。 さらに奥の方は観光的な雰囲気も薄れて、地元の人の日々の生活に密着したお店が多くなります。 庚申塚の先も、商店街は中山道沿いにずっと伸びています。 商店の客は当然高齢者が多いですが、若い人が歩いても十分に楽しめると思います。

巣鴨を象徴する場所でもある。 とげぬき地蔵に通じる商店街。この通りはかつては旧中山道でもあった。 商店街に並ぶ店は、衣料品店、和菓子店、飲食店などがあり、昭和の香りがする店も多い。衣類など店で扱っているものはやはり高齢者を対象にしたものが多い。 「おばあちゃんの原宿」といわれるのがわかる。 サラリーマンのインタビューの場所が新橋のように、年寄りのインタビューはここ巣鴨の商店街が定番となっている。
