Flying penguins?! An urban healing aquarium
The highlight of the Sunshine Aquarium is undoubtedly the "Penguins in the Sky". The 12m wide overhanging tank in the middle of the city's skyscrapers makes it feel like the penguins are flying around between the buildings.

Highlights

Point 1

A Corner Where Penguins Seem to Fly in the Sky

Sunshine Aquarium A Corner Where Penguins Seem to Fly in the Sky
At Sunshine Aquarium, where about 50 penguins live, there is a corner called "Penguins in the Sky" where you can see penguins swimming as if they are flying in the sky. It's a unique world that can only be found at Sunshine Aquarium, located in the middle of the city. The sight of penguins swimming between tall buildings is beautiful and makes you feel a sense of wonder. You can see the cute penguins from below, which is different from seeing them walking on the ground or swimming from the side.
Point 2

Corner where you can see seals from below

Sunshine Aquarium Corner where you can see seals from below
At the outdoor exhibition corner, the Sunshine Aqua Ring, you can see seals energetically swimming around from below. You can enjoy their cute bellies and the sensation of swimming at a leisurely pace, which you can't see in normal exhibits. Just like the "Penguins in the Sky," it's also recommended to take pictures that make it look like the seals are flying in the sky, with the high-rise buildings of Ikebukuro visible between the tanks.
Point 3

Stylish Atmosphere in the Jellyfish Corner

Sunshine Aquarium Stylish Atmosphere in the Jellyfish Corner
The "Jellyfish Space" where many jellyfish are exhibited is a dark and fantastic space where you can enjoy the characteristics of jellyfish. The jellyfish swimming softly in the beautifully lit aquariums in the dark are very beautiful and you won't get tired of watching them. Such a slightly moody space may be a good opportunity to get a little closer to your loved ones...
Point 4

Exhibits where you can learn about living creatures

Sunshine Aquarium Exhibits where you can learn about living creatures
There are many attractions at Sunshine Aquarium, but one of them is the ability to enjoy the aquarium while learning about the ecology of living creatures. Each exhibit of the aquarium's living creatures has a detailed explanation, allowing you to learn about their surprising appearance and unknown ecology. In addition, there are many exhibits that reproduce in detail the places where penguins actually live, such as "Penguins on the Grasslands," making it a space where you can not only have fun, but also learn.
Point 5

Events to Enjoy Depending on the Season

Sunshine Aquarium Events to Enjoy Depending on the Season
At Sunshine Aquarium, various events are held depending on the season. During New Year's, there are shows featuring lion dances, while Valentine's Day features panels with heart motifs. In the middle of summer, the entire aquarium is transformed into a haunted house-like atmosphere, ensuring that visitors can enjoy themselves no matter how many times they visit. In addition, there are also unique events that can only be experienced at an aquarium, such as performances by divers in giant tanks and seal shows.
