Highlights

Point 1

Enjoy Watching Cats at Yuyake Dandan

Enjoy Watching Cats at Yuyake Dandan
Yuyake Dandan is a famous spot where stray cats gather. The cats, also known as "Yanaka cats," are carefree and just watching them can be healing. However, there are days when no cats are around, so it's a surprise whether you'll meet them or not. As they are stray cats, it's important not to touch them or feed them, but to enjoy watching them from a distance.
Point 2

Experience the Nostalgic Atmosphere of Yanaka Ginza Shopping Street

Yuyake Dandan Experience the Nostalgic Atmosphere of Yanaka Ginza Shopping Street
The Yanaka Ginza Shopping Street is where you can find the nostalgic atmosphere of Tokyo's old downtown. After enjoying the sight of cats lounging on the Yuyake Dandan stairs, take some time to shop at the stores that have been loved by locals and tourists for a long time, such as the evening meal shops and souvenir shops. The shopping street is enjoyable just by looking at the various stores, but if you purchase ingredients that can be used for dinner, preparing your evening meal will become much easier.
Point 3

Memorable Photos at Yuyake Dandan

Memorable Photos at Yuyake Dandan
Located on a hill in a retro shopping district, Yuyake Dandan is the perfect spot to take memorable photos and create travel memories. Photos taken with the backdrop of a townscape that feels like a time slip to the Showa era exude a nostalgic atmosphere that you wouldn't think was taken in Tokyo. If you're lucky, you might even be able to enjoy a commemorative photo with the Yanaka cats that come to Yuyake Dandan.
Point 4

Enjoy the Sunset as the Name Suggests

Yuyake Dandan Enjoy the Sunset as the Name Suggests
Yuyake Dandan is known as a famous spot for sunsets, as its name suggests. In the evening, as the sun sets, the Yanaka shopping district and Yuyake Dandan are illuminated, creating a warm and nostalgic atmosphere. This is the charm of the place. As the sun sets earlier in the winter, it's recommended to visit during the longer days of summer if you want to enjoy the sunset at a leisurely pace.
Point 5

Don't Miss the Surrounding Spots

Yuyake Dandan Don't Miss the Surrounding Spots
Yuyake Dandan is a staircase-like spot at the entrance of a shopping district. If you're enjoying tourism, it's a good idea to combine it with the surrounding spots. For example, Nezu Shrine, which is about a 10-minute walk away, is a popular power spot for good luck in business and warding off evil. In addition, Nezu Shrine is recommended for those who love flowers and nature as the azaleas bloom in full force around May. There are also other tourist spots in the downtown area, such as public baths and the Nippori textile district, so why not visit them along with Yuyake Dandan?
