There are many exhibits that will be familiar to those who have touched upon the history of the Sanada family, such as the "Aoe no Oodachi" (Important Cultural Property) representing the Sanada family's swords.

"Gojiri Udon," located on a hill in Matsushiro, is popular for its hand-made udon noodles made with a particular technique and original dishes that make use of local Matsushiro ingredients. It's perfect for stopping by during sightseeing! The udon noodles, which have a glossy texture and strong chewiness, are made with flour imported from the home of Sanuki udon and water from Toyosaka, making them absolutely delicious. The popular menu items are the "Oshibori Udon" and "Matsushiro Age" for 1,200 yen. Since it's located on a hill, you can enjoy the town of Matsushiro from above while sightseeing!

Access

Easy Access from Nagano City!
If you're coming by train, take the shinkansen to Nagano Station first. From there, take the Alpico Transport bus from bus stop #7 and get off at "Sanada Treasures Museum". It takes about 15 minutes. If you're coming by car, take the Joshinetsu Expressway from "Nagano IC" towards Nagano Station and head south on Route 2. You'll arrive at the Sanada Treasures Museum in about 5km. You can also visit by plane from Kansai or Tohoku to Matsumoto. Please use the "Azusa Express" or a high-speed bus from Matsumoto Station to Nagano Station.

Fee

Admission is 600 yen for adults and 100 yen for children
The admission fee for the Sanada Treasures Museum is 600 yen for adults and 100 yen for elementary and junior high school students. For groups, there is a discount, with admission fees reduced to 500 yen for adults and 50 yen for elementary and junior high school students. It's recommended for families with children interested in history, as the admission fee for elementary and junior high school students is quite reasonable. In addition to the Sanada Treasures Museum, there are also common tickets available for visiting other Sanada family-related residences such as the Sanada Residence and the Bunbu Gakko, so please consult with the Sanada Treasures Museum counter.

Parking

Four Free Parking Lots Available
There are four free parking lots available. The first is the Sanada Treasures Museum Front Parking Lot (east side of the museum, in front of the entrance), which is the closest parking lot to the museum entrance. It can accommodate three large buses, 25 regular cars, and one car for people with disabilities. The second is the Sanada Residence and Bunbu Gakkou North Parking Lot (west side of the museum, one minute walk to the museum), which can only accommodate 30 regular cars. The third is the Municipal Tonomachi Tourist Parking Lot (three-minute walk to the museum, on the south side of Matsushiro Castle and the former Nagano Electric Railway site), which can accommodate seven large buses, 40 regular cars, and two cars for people with disabilities. The last one is the Matsushiro Castle North Parking Lot (12-minute walk to the museum, on the north side of Matsushiro Castle), which can accommodate 10 large buses, 60 regular cars, and two cars for people with disabilities. In addition to these public free parking lots, there are also paid parking lots around the Sanada Treasures Museum. It is recommended to check the location of the surrounding parking lots when visiting popular exhibitions.
