The biggest attraction of Takashima Castle is the Tenshu-kaku, which offers a panoramic view of Lake Suwa. The beautiful scenery seen from this historic building is a luxurious experience that will stay with you. This castle, which is one of Japan's three greatest lake castles, was built by a retainer of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and its historical value is also a charm. When you visit, be sure to enjoy the view of Lake Suwa from the Tenshu-kaku.
Point 2

Please come and experience the collaboration of a charming castle and beautiful cherry blossoms.
Point 3

Historical Remains of Stone Walls and Gates

The charm of Takashima Castle lies in the historical remains of its stone walls and gates. Built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi's vassals, this castle was constructed as if floating on the shores of Lake Suwa. It has a form called "renkaku-style," where the northern Imino-watari-kaku, San-no-maru, Ni-no-maru, and Hon-maru are lined up in a straight line. Another feature is that the roofs of the main buildings were covered with shingles. It's a must-see spot for history buffs and architecture fans.
Point 4

Enjoy the Atmosphere of a Historic Castle Town Developed as a Tourist Spot

To the north of Takashima Castle, there is a historic castle town that has been developed as a tourist spot. The town, which has only one road, offers a charming and atmospheric view. Due to the soft ground near the lake, heavy tiles could not be used for the roofs, resulting in the unique feature of thatched roofs. By strolling through this town, which was created by relocating shops and temples, you can enjoy the historical ambiance. Please come and visit this town.
Point 5

お花見スポットですね。シーズンはとてもきれいに桜が咲きます。ソメイヨシノから遅咲きのしだれまで。城の前が庭園になっており、そこに落ちる桜の花びらも素敵です。
