A hidden hot spring with white cloudy water and an altitude of about 1100m is its characteristic.
Located on a slope at the highest point in the Myoko Mountains, with an elevation of about 1,100 meters, Tsubame Onsen is a secluded hot spring known for its milky white water. It was named Tsubame Onsen because swallows were seen flying around in the fall. It is famous as a hot spring town where you can be healed while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Mt. Myoko, with high-quality hot springs.

Tsubame Onsen in Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture is a hidden hot spring located at an elevation of 1,100m. The "Triple Bijin-yu" contains sulfur springs, carbonated hydrogen springs, and sulfuric acid springs, which are effective for cuts, coldness, and atopic dermatitis. The free open-air baths "Golden Baths (separate for men and women)" and "Kawara-no-yu (mixed bath)" are popular hot spring spots, and the unique quality of the hot springs, which contain three components with beauty effects, is called "Triple Bijin-yu". Each accommodation facility offers open-air baths and indoor baths with hot spring water flowing directly from the source. It is also a starting point for climbing Mt. Myoko, and is widely used by climbers.

Off-the-Beaten-Path Hot Spring in Myoko Highlands
Tsubame Onsen is an off-the-beaten-path hot spring located in the high-altitude area of the Myoko Highlands in Niigata Prefecture. Take the Echigo Tokimeki Railway from Joetsu Myoko Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen and get off at Sekiyama Station. Then transfer to a bus and arrive in about 30 minutes. The area around the hot spring is rich in nature, so if you want to enjoy a stroll, wear comfortable clothes or clothes appropriate for the season.

妙高山登山口にあります。 洗い場はありません。掛け湯と浸かるだけです。無料ですがお気持ちのお賽銭をいれます。駐車場から徒歩10分くらいです。

2025/2/19平日、日本列島日本海側全駅に大雪警報が出ている時期でした。近いほうの温泉は行けるかと思ってましたが、大雪すぎる積雪で、除雪がおっつかないらしく、今はやっておりませんでした。でも、ここは素晴らしい温泉なので、超超超オススメです!

妙高高原には温泉が沢山あります(池の平温泉、赤倉温泉、新赤倉温泉、関温泉など)。燕温泉は一番奥地にあり登山口もあります。無料駐車場は30台停められる。泉質は硫黄泉、乳白色、熱湯?。妙高山登り赤倉温泉源泉はあったが燕温泉の源泉はなかった。ただどちらも似たような泉質かと思います。登山道には黄金の湯あり。温泉街は6軒ほど、宿泊施設と商店ある。入山料は駐車場付近の箱に納めグッズをもらうのは大日屋になります。雷鳥かたどったキーホルダーなどあります。
