Kashiwazaki's Specialty: Saba Sandwich!

Nihonkai Fisherman's Cape Kashiwazaki's Specialty: Saba Sandwich!
In Kashiwazaki, Niigata, the local gourmet dish is the "Saba Sandwich" made with fried mackerel seasoned with salt and lemon, sandwiched between soft and chewy coppe bread. The combination of fried mackerel and coppe bread is excellent, and onion slices add a nice texture. Interestingly, the Saba Sandwich is actually a famous gourmet dish from Istanbul, Turkey. Kashiwazaki has a Kashiwazaki Turkey Village, and the Saba Sandwich was born by improving Istanbul's Saba Sandwich. Please come and taste the local flavor of Kashiwazaki, which has been inspired by a dish from a foreign country!

It's a building that you should definitely visit at the end of the day when you've had fun at the Japan Sea Fisherman's Cape. At the Sea Port Museum, you can actually touch the weighty ship equipment that was used on ships. After that, when you go to Cellar 15, you'll find yourself wanting to buy marine-themed souvenirs!

"Koibito Misaki" - Connecting Time and Hearts

Nihonkai Fisherman's Cape "Koibito Misaki" - Connecting Time and Hearts
On the outskirts of the Japan Sea Fisherman's Cape lies "Koibito Misaki" (Lovers' Cape), a holy site for lovers. Enjoying the best location with blue skies, blue sea, and seagulls flying with your loved one is a unique pleasure of a seaside town. It is said that if two people attach heart-shaped plates to the fence on the cape, they will be happily united in the future. In addition, on clear evenings, you can enjoy the sunset sinking into the Japan Sea. Spend time with your loved one in a fantastic atmosphere different from daytime.
