Classic History

Highlights

Point 1

Reflect on the History of Takeda Shingen

Takeda Shrine Reflect on the History of Takeda Shingen
Takeda Shrine is a shrine dedicated to Takeda Shingen and is located in Kofu City, the birthplace of Lord Shingen. Every year in April, the Takeda Twenty-Four Horsemen Parade is held, allowing visitors to enjoy the atmosphere of the Warring States period. Built on the site of the Takeda family residence, this power spot still watches over the city of Kofu from a high vantage point. If you love history and visit the Kofu Station area, it's a must-visit spot.
Point 2

Castle-like Stone Walls and Moats

Takeda Shrine Castle-like Stone Walls and Moats
Takeda Shrine's charm lies in its castle-like atmosphere, with stone walls and moats. Crossing the sacred bridge and walking along the approach with its stone walls gives you the feeling of stepping into Takeda Shingen's castle. In addition, there are many spots related to the Takeda clan, such as Yoroiyama Castle, a national designated historic site, and Tsutsujigasaki Mansion, so why not visit them together?
Point 3

Boost Your Luck for Victory by Visiting the Main Shrine

Takeda Shrine Boost Your Luck for Victory by Visiting the Main Shrine
The main attraction of a visit to Takeda Shrine is the main shrine located at the center of the precincts. This shrine, dedicated to Takeda Shingen, who is said to be the strongest warlord of the Warring States period, is believed to bring not only good luck in winning, but also blessings for winning in life itself. If you have plans to challenge something or have upcoming competitions such as exams or games, please visit the shrine.
Point 4

View the Treasure Hall

Takeda Shrine View the Treasure Hall
When visiting Takeda Shrine, be sure to stop by the Treasure Hall in addition to the main hall. Inside the Treasure Hall are precious items related to Taketa City, such as the sword "Yoshioka Ichimonji," which is designated as an important cultural property of the country, and the "Shingen-kou Gun-sen," a fan with a poem written by Takeda Shingen himself. Admission is a reasonable price of 300 yen for adults and 150 yen for children, so please stop by and take a look.
Point 5

Discover Hidden Gems in the Shrine Grounds

Takeda Shrine Discover Hidden Gems in the Shrine Grounds
The grounds of Takeda Shrine are dotted with hidden gem spots that are often overlooked. For example, there is the "Hime no Ido" (Princess Well) next to the main hall, which is said to have the power of longevity and good health because it was used when Takeda Shingen's daughter was born. Other charming spots include the "Takeda Suikinkutsu," where the pleasant sound of water droplets falling into a water basin is impressive, and the "Mitsuba no Matsu," a rare three-leafed pine tree that is said to bring good luck in money matters. If you have extra time during your visit, be sure to stop by these attractive spots.

Access

Just a Bus Ride from JR Kofu Station
Takeda Shrine is located in the Kofu area of Yamanashi prefecture, which is a hub for tourism in the area. It takes about 40 minutes to walk from Kofu Station to the shrine, so we recommend taking a taxi or bus. If you choose to take the bus, take the Yamanashi Kotsu bus from the north exit of Kofu Station for about 8 minutes and get off at Takeda Shrine. If you're driving, it's a good idea to use the free parking lot at Takeda Shrine.
