桜島フェリー乗り場から車ですぐ、歩いても10分くらいで着きます。 桜島の成り立ちや人々の暮らし、ムービーによる解説など桜島の事を楽しく学べるスポットでお土産も個性的なものが多いので桜島に来たらまずは寄ると良いと思います。しかも無料! 直近の噴火情報も分かります。 桜島が活火山である事がよくわかります。 次の大噴火に備えて正しい知識を学ぶという意味では観光客の方だけでなく鹿児島の方にもおすすめのスポットです。

桜島に関する説明や資料を見ることができます。入場無料です。 桜島の火山活動状況をリアルタイムで見られるようになっていて、「噴火」「爆発」という言葉の定義を教えていただきました。 桜島観光では、まずここを訪問し、ここから赤水展望広場まで遊歩道経由で歩き、バスで湯之平展望台に行き、フェリー乗り場に戻るのが効率的な半日コースだと思います。

桜島に渡って一番に寄りました。 フェリー乗り場から歩いて10分かからないくらいの微妙な距離です。 この先の移動を考えると、バスとか車がないと辛いかなと思います。 桜島の噴火などの歴史や様子が分かる展示があったり、映画が上映されてました。 到着してすぐなのにお土産買ってしまいました。 鹿児島県民にはお馴染み、克灰袋のイラストが入った黄色い布袋ですが、大きいのとキーホルダー型の小さい物、両方買ってしまいました。 他に2〜3センチくらいの噴石が売っていたので、使い道考えずに買ってしまいました。
