Kumaso Cave, located on the west side of Myoken Onsen, is said to have been inhabited by the Kumaso people who lived in southern Kyushu in ancient times. The Kumaso were a brave and fierce people, and were written as "Kumaso" in the Kojiki and "Kumaso" in the Nihon Shoki. The entrance to Kumaso Cave is narrow, but inside there is a spacious area that is 22 meters deep, 10 meters wide, and 6 meters high. In addition, modern art by artist Sadayuki Hagiwara is painted inside the cave, creating a mysterious atmosphere. At the entrance, there is also a work by artist Hisashi Takemichi called "The Thoughts of the Gods". Access

Access in about 15 minutes by car from Mizobe Kagoshima Airport IC!
When using public transportation to access Myoken Onsen, take the Kirishima Iwasaki Hotel-bound bus from Kokubu Station on the JR Line and get off at the Myoken Onsen bus stop, which takes about 20 minutes. Alternatively, take the Myoken route bus from Hayato Station on the JR Nippo Main Line to Myoken Onsen, which takes about 20 minutes. If you are driving, take National Route 504/223 via Mizobe Kagoshima Airport IC on the Kyushu Expressway and drive for about 10 km or 15 minutes to reach Myoken Onsen.

電車で来ましたが、交通の便はよくないです。ですが部屋は最高でした。きれいで設備が整っています。温泉も成分豊富で効きそうです。食事はまだ食べていないのですが、よさそうです。サービスはこなれてない感じですが誠意は感じました。お勧めできると思います。

2024.12.31宿泊。 お部屋がリノベーションされていて 全体的にとても綺麗でした。 お風呂は 昔そのままで昭和感がまた良く 湯量ドバドバで源泉掛け流しのお湯も最高。 そしてお料理は おしゃれな器に美しい盛り付けで 全ての物が手作り 味付けも繊細でどれもこれも美味しかったです。 朝は おせち料理でこれもとても美味しかったです。 部屋からの景色も最高。夜は夜景が綺麗で お風呂 お部屋 お料理 三拍子揃っていてお値段的にはコスパ最高の宿でした。

初めてこちらの旅館に泊まってみて、とても心地よい時間を過ごせました!スタッフの方々はちょっとぎこちない対応、及第点だけど。お部屋の設備も悪くなく、快適でしたね。旅行・グルメサイトで見つけたおかげで、リピートしたくなる魅力を感じました。また友人にも紹介したいと思います!
