Ogawa Waterfall is a waterfall located in Minamiosumi-cho, southern Osumi Peninsula, Kagoshima Prefecture. The waterfall has a drop of about 46m and a width of about 60m. This waterfall is known as a location for the opening video of NHK's Taiga drama "Segodon" and the movie "Kingdom", and its beautiful scenery fascinates people. It has a mysterious atmosphere and is popular as a scenic spot. In 2018, Ogawa Waterfall and the surrounding valley were incorporated into the Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park. This park has beautiful nature, and in addition to viewing the waterfall, you can also enjoy walking and hiking in the surrounding area. Access

Recommended to Travel by Ferry!
When accessing Ogawa Falls by car, it takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes from Kagoshima Airport by using the highway and heading towards Kagoshima. Then, take Prefectural Route 552 and Prefectural Route 68 to arrive. From Shibushi Port, it takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes via National Route 448 and Kanoko Green Road. If you use the ferry, you can depart from Kagoshima City or Kagoshima Chuo Station and use the Sakurajima Ferry or the Kamoike-Tarumizu Ferry. The Sakurajima Ferry takes about 2 hours via the Sakurajima Ferry from Kagoshima Port, which is about 15 minutes away, while the Kamoike-Tarumizu Ferry, which is about 45 minutes away from Kagoshima Port, takes about 2 hours via the Kamoike-Tarumizu Ferry and Tarumizu City.

雄川の滝まで、駐車場から片道20分。 大人300円の入園料で、これほど整備され、歩きやすい遊歩道があるのはとてもありがたかったです。杖を使いながらの歩行でも十分に楽しめました。 澄みきった空気とたっぷりのマイナスイオンに包まれ、心からリフレッシュできる素晴らしい場所でした。

行って良かった。 入園料必要です。 道は整備されているので少し坂やデコボコ道はあるものの、子連れでベビーカーで滝まで行く事ができました。

大雨の直後に来訪しました。滝は大迫力ですが 水が濁って茶色です。 エメラルドグリーンの滝壷と川が見たい方は 前日も晴れの日に来ることをお勧めします。
