Access

Access to Kankawa Otaki Park by Car is Convenient
If using public transportation to access Kankawa Otaki Park, first take the Okuma Transportation Network Ferry from Kagoshima Kamoguchi Port and arrive at Tarumi Port in about 40 minutes. From there, transfer to the Okuma Transportation Network Bus and take the Daikonjima or Odomari line for about 50 minutes, then get off at the Kankawa Bus Stop. From the Kankawa Bus Stop, it's about a 5-minute drive or a 45-minute walk to the park. If using a car, take National Route 220 and 269 via Kasaharai IC on the Osumi Vertical Road, and arrive at the park in about 27km or 35 minutes. Either way, access is relatively convenient, allowing you to visit the nature-rich Kankawa Otaki Park.

入り口にかなり台数を停められる駐車場有。トイレあり。茶屋あり(営業日、時間要確認) 公園入り口からすぐのところに神川小滝(別名「弁財天の滝」)落差20㍍がある。神川七滝のうち1つ。こちらは水量はあまりないが、落差があるので綺麗な放物線を描いている。 小滝の近くに高さ約68㍍、長さ130㍍の「虹の吊橋・大滝橋」に行ける螺旋階段の遊歩道があり、そこから少し険しい道を10分程度登ると神川大滝全体を見下ろせる橋まで辿り着ける。ただ、こちらの螺旋階段は台風の被害にあったためか、訪問時はテープで立ち入り禁止となっていて登ることができなかった。 神川大滝の全体を上から見下ろしたい方は大橋の左右に繋がっている道路(駐車場有)まで車で行った方が楽に行けるだろう。橋の両側には駐車場完備されている。 螺旋階段からさらに先に整備された公園の道を数分程度歩けば、神川大滝に辿り着ける。落差25㍍。幅35㍍。水量も常にそれなりにあり、かなり迫力のある滝だ。滝に近づくと水の飛沫を浴びることになるので、濡れるのが嫌な方は折りたたみ傘などを持って行くと良いだろう。 とても手軽に行けるので、近くに行く際は、是非寄られるのが良いだろう。

吊り橋から滝を見ました。 足がすくむ程の高さ、景観は素晴らしかったです。 紅葉の時季は絶景だと思います。 行き帰りは離合出来ない程、狭い道なので注意が必要です。

時間が無くて公園の大滝と小滝を見ましたがとても気持ちよかったです。大滝は迫力があって、夏に来たら涼しいだろうなと思いました。看板を見ると他の滝は整備予定もあるようなのでまた見に来たいと思います。
