Ukushima Aquarium, floating in the sea of Kamikushima!
Reopening on December 22, 2021!! This unique aquarium is the only one in western Japan that floats in the sea. Not only can you see the creatures up close, but you can also interact with dolphins, making it enjoyable for both children and adults! There is also a night aquarium.

The exciting Seadoughnut Aquarium is a rare national aquarium floating in the sea of Amakusa. The aquarium is located at a depth of 3 meters, and in the zones representing the 7 continents of the world, you can see fish that inhabit each of the seas. Approximately 200 species and about 5,000 creatures are on display, with a focus on Amakusa fish. You can enjoy the sensation of being in the sea by watching fish swimming naturally through the windows. There is also a cafe and a gift shop, so it's recommended to stop by for a break!

Near the Sea Aquarium Seedonut in Amakusa, there is a pearl shop called Tenjukan that offers a variety of pearls grown in the warm waters of Amakusa. The shop has a wide range of pearl products on display, including necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings, with a variety of designs to choose from. You can find your own favorite accessory. In addition, there is a small park with playground equipment inside Sea Doughnuts, where kids can move their bodies on slides and Tarzan ropes. It's a facility that both children and adults can enjoy, and it's known for its rare experience of being a floating aquarium in the sea.

Seedonuts is located within the Amakusa Pearl Center. Within the same center, there are also events where you can make sea glass accessories, which require reservations. Additionally, from the observation deck of Mt. Chikuzen, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the islands and sea of Amakusa Matsushima, as well as the Amakusa Gohashi bridges. The Amakusa region is a place rich in beautiful sea and nature. When visiting Amakusa, it's also recommended to visit the "Exciting Underwater Aquarium Seedonuts" and see the sea creatures of Amakusa.

Booking a Mobile Aquarium

Seedonuts is also a mobile aquarium. From April 2023 to March 2024, it will be exhibited in various locations. Requests for the mobile aquarium must be made one month prior to the scheduled date. In addition, a lottery is held where you can win prizes such as admission to the "Exciting Underwater Aquarium Seedonuts" and a trainer experience. With new events such as the mobile aquarium and lottery, you won't get bored no matter how many times you visit!

Use the Affordable Annual Passport
To enjoy the exciting Sea-Doughnut at the Wakuwaku Undersea Aquarium, admission fees are required. The fees are 1,400 yen for adults, 900 yen for elementary and junior high school students, and 500 yen for children aged 4 and above. Additionally, you can purchase an annual passport. The passport fees are 3,300 yen for adults, 2,200 yen for elementary and junior high school students, and 1,100 yen for children aged 4 and above. Previously, there were discounts for repeat visitors and nearby accommodation facilities, but they have been discontinued, so please be careful!

Access

Visit an Easily Accessible Aquarium
It's recommended to visit the exciting underwater aquarium, Sea Doughnuts, using public transportation. If you take the bus, you can use the convenient express bus from Kumamoto Station! It takes about an hour and a half by Kyushu Sangyo Express Bus to get to the aquarium. It's also possible to get there by ferry, which takes about 1 hour from JR Kumamoto Station to Mikawa Port, and then about 20 minutes using the Sea Cruise, for a total of about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Additionally, there is a fully equipped parking lot, so you can also visit by car!

Convenient Parking Spot Right in Front of the Attraction
At the exciting Wakuwaku Kaichu Aquarium Seedonuts, you can use the parking lot located right in front of the facility. The usage fee is free, and it can accommodate up to 120 passenger cars and a maximum of 150 cars including shared spaces. There is also a large parking lot that can accommodate about 8 buses, so you can use it without hesitation even on holidays. Enjoy sightseeing by using the convenient parking lot!

2024.11.23 昭和の時代からある古い水族館ですが、あたり一帯を含めて新しいお洒落な施設が建設されていたり、綺麗に再整備されたりしていました。水族館自体も内外とも綺麗になっており、中の展示も小規模ながら良かったです。施設の特徴である海中展望船を生かした自然の海中が見れる窓や、中央部の生簀の鯛やイルカプールのイルカなどどれも手が届く程近くて、1,400円(大人)の入場料を高いとは感じませんでしたよ~(∩´∀`)∩

2025.1.26 日曜日でしたが館内は込み合わず 魚をゆっくり見れた🐟 1400円ですが大満足💯 飼育員さん?の手書きの解説イラストも可愛いし素敵でした! ワンちゃんは臆病な性格らしいので 暖かい目で 吠えたら離れましょう

比較的格安で入れる水族館。コンパクトにまとまってますが非常に見応えある水族館でした。淡水の魚も居たり、真ん中では鯛の餌やり体験。外のイルカスペースではイルカとふれあい体験も出来ました。駐車場は新しい感じで利用しやすかったです。施設〜駐車場間に公園もあり子供が喜びます。お土産スペースも充実していてよかったです。
