鉄輪温泉は別府温泉を代表する温泉街です。 蒸し湯では専用の浴衣を着て釜の中に敷かれた藁のような薬草の上に寝転んで、汗をたっぷりかいてデトックスできます。 無料の足湯や足蒸しもあり気軽に立ち寄れて、地獄めぐりの散策で疲れた足を癒すことが出来ます。 源泉があちらこちらにあり、蒸気がたくさん出ており温泉街は硫黄の香りがします。 歴史のある旅館やレトロな宿が多く、一遍上人にちなんだ共同浴場のお風呂は100円で一般の観光客も利用可能です。 熱水泉の泉質は塩化物泉になります。 蒸気を利用して蒸した野菜や肉まんなどの料理が食べられるお店もあります。

別府でも湯量が最も多いエリアだそうです。立ち寄り湯もたくさんあります。10分ごとのハシゴ湯もオツですよ。風情も最高とても癒されます。
