At the "Yama no soba chaya" shop, which serves local chicken soba, the broth made with locally raised chicken and the hand-made thin noodles are perfectly balanced. In addition, there is "Okasan no pan" in the Kodaira-yaki Village, which sells bread baked with carefully selected ingredients such as wheat flour and natural yeast. 撮影で小鹿田焼の里にいったのですが、民陶祭で人が多くびっくりしました。 あちこちをまわりながら店先に並んでいる小鹿田焼を見て回りました。 独特の模様、飛び鉋が素敵でした。 情景がすごくよかったです。 秘境を楽しむ感じで行ってみてほしいですね。

湯布院の道の駅で買った飛び鉋の皿がもっと欲しくなり、福岡からレンタカーで向かいました。 ナビが案内する宝珠山方面からのルートが2本とも通行止めで、日田市内まで南下してから「小鹿田焼の里」に向かうことになりましたが正解だったように思います。後でストリートビューで見ると離合が難しそうな道が続いているようです。 日田方面から北上し、いったん皿山トンネルを超えてから右折すると「小鹿田焼陶芸館」があり、ここに車を停め陶芸館を見てから各窯元をまわりました。民陶祭の直後の金曜日だったので、人もまばらで品物もとても少なかったように思います。 ただ、その分ゆっくりと見て回ることができましたし、気に入ったものをいくつか買えて満足です。 狭いエリアなので、歩いて回る苦労はないと思います。駐車場はいちばん上といちばん下に、それぞれ10数台分ありました。

祝日の朝早く行きました。まだ開いているお店も少なかったですがゆっくり散策できました。川に沿ったごく狭い範囲の集落がこの陶工の里です。 車を降りると唐臼のぎいい‥という音と絶え間なく流れる川水の音、薪の燃える匂いにまず感動しました。 村全体が焼き物を生み出すために一体となって黙々と動いている様子に感動しました。数百年間、色々な時代を経ても変わらず一つのものづくりをされている事、本当に驚嘆に値します。こんな場所は他にはないのでは。 人と自然が一緒になって作られた小鹿田焼の魅力は一口では言い表せないし、たくさんの人の心をとらえて離さないのも納得です。
