Bungo Three Hot Springs, a traditional hot spring known as one of the three largest in Bungo.
Tenganse Onsen is a hot spring resort with inns scattered along the Kusu River. With a history of about 1,300 years, it is said to be one of the three major hot springs in Bungo, along with Beppu and Yufuin. Along the riverbank of the Kusu River, there are five famous open-air baths lined up, where you can experience a mysterious sensation as if you are bathing in the river.

The sightseeing taxi at Tenkase Onsen can take you around the surrounding tourist spots, with the hot spring town as the central point. There are two plans available: a 2-hour rental plan and a short (40-minute) rental plan. The 2-hour plan costs between 5,000 to 6,000 yen, while the short plan costs 3,000 yen. There are plans to visit Jion Falls and Rose Garden, as well as Takatsuka Atago Jizo and Yabu Fudoson, among others. It's recommended for those who can't drive themselves or those who want to efficiently sightsee. In addition, the taxi driver can provide local information, allowing for a deeper sightseeing experience. Reservations in advance are necessary!
