From the Futami Okitama Shrine's Meoto Iwa, the sunrise is an impressive sight.
The husband and wife rocks are famous for being tied together by a shimenawa rope that is approximately 65 meters long, with a maximum diameter of 75 centimeters and a weight of about 2 tons, with the male rock standing at 17 meters tall and the female rock at 10 meters tall. The length of the shimenawa rope is even registered in the Guinness Book of World Records. The sunrise rising from between the husband and wife rocks is very impressive.

駐車場がないと知らず近くに駐車させてもらいました。遊歩道が綺麗に整備されていました。歩いてしめ縄の所まで景色や景観がいいので遠く感じません。 しめ縄がかなりボロボロでした。 年に1回12月に新しくなるそうです。 潮風にあたり1年近くでこんなになるのかと思いました。 無人のガチャガチャで運玉石(3個入り) を購入して運玉を投げ入れる。なんと ストライクで入りました~やったー😃✌

ちょっと入り口がわかりにくいです。 岩の近くまで寄れます。しめ縄がとても長いです。 ガチャガチャで福玉(小石3個)を100円で購入し、決まった場所から願をかけて投げ込むのをやりました。なかなか難しいです。

豊後二見ヶ浦は、国道217号線、佐伯市上浦大字浅海井浦、東雲小学校、中学校に隣接しています。佐伯市観光ナビには「駐車場はない」ということです。私は知らずに漁港近くに駐車させてもらいました。初日の出には臨時駐車場を設置するとのことです。 遊歩道が整備されていて、歩いて夫婦岩、しめ縄のところまで行けます。御守りと願掛け「結の石」を販売しているそうです。が、私が行った時は朝が早かったのか、売店が閉まっていました。 夫婦岩なので縁結び、夫婦円満の御守りと願掛けなのでしょうね。
