Beautiful Scenery Woven by Water and History

Takamatsu Castle Ruins (Tamamo Park) is one of Japan's three great water castles, located near the sea and with its moat filled with seawater, causing the water level to change with the tides. Inside the park, there are designated important cultural properties such as the Tsukimi Yagura and the Ryoyagura, creating a beautiful scenery woven by historical buildings and nature. This historical landmark is located in a prime location just a short walk from Takamatsu Station, the gateway to Kagawa tourism, and is definitely a spot you'll want to visit during your sightseeing.

Feeding Tai Fish and Interacting with Them

In the moat of Tamamo Park, there is a spot where you can feed tai fish. As the water level of the moat changes with the tide, it's best to check the time when the tai fish come to eat before visiting. When you give them food, the tai fish will gather in groups. Children will be delighted as they interact with the fish. The floating bait for the tai can be purchased at a vending machine near the feeding experience spot.

Observatory with a View of Takamatsu City

From the restored stone walls of the main keep at the Takamatsu Castle ruins, also known as the current castle tower, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Takamatsu City and the Seto Inland Sea. Additionally, from the observation floor of the nearby "Takamatsu Symbol Tower," also sometimes referred to as the current castle tower, you can enjoy the view of Kagawa from a height of 30 floors above ground. If you're using the bus, it's a 2-minute walk from Takamatsu Chikkou Bus Stop and a 5-minute walk from Takamatsu Station Bus Stop. If you're going to take a stroll around the castle ruins, which offer a rich natural environment that's hard to believe is so close to the urban area, it's best to wear comfortable clothes.

2025.2.23訪問。公園に入るのに200円掛かりますが、天守台に行くためには必ず必要となりますので払う価値があります。駅方面へ向かうのにあえて公園を抜けるのも良いものです。近くの展望室から眺めると公園の形状がよく分かります。

3連休の日曜日の午後の伺いました。専用の無料駐車場は満車で駐車に15分くらいはかかりました。お城というよりは庭園という感じでした。堀の水が回数ということで、鯛の餌やりができるのが、珍しいです。

日本100名城 No77高松城日本三大水城の一つで、堀には海水が流れていて魚が泳いでいます。全国に12基しかない三重櫓を有しており、日曜日には櫓内から眺めの良い景色を見ることが出来ます
