Learn the History of Takamatsu Castle and Hikunin-no-Kaori Pavilion

Takamatsu Castle was built by Ikoma Chikamasa after Toyotomi Hideyoshi's conquest of Shikoku and has been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Castles. On the other hand, Hikunin-no-Kaori Pavilion is a vast building that was built as a Takamatsu villa during the Matsudaira clan era and is now designated as an important cultural property. Inside Hikunin-no-Kaori Pavilion, there are rooms that make you feel the history, such as the 142 tatami mat Daisyo-in and the Nami-no-ma. Tamamo Park has been developed on the site of Takamatsu Castle, where you can learn about history while taking a walk. In addition, the Takamatsu City Museum holds exhibitions where you can learn about the history of Takamatsu Castle and Hikunin-no-Kaori Pavilion. This is a must-see tourist spot for history lovers.

Beautiful gardens spread around Hifukaku. In the spring, cherry blossoms and azaleas bloom, and in the autumn, it's a beautiful season with autumn leaves. In addition, there are carp and turtles swimming in the pond, creating a healing space. The garden also has a popular plant called Bai Kaoren, which was introduced in the NHK continuous TV novel "Ranman". Events such as collaborations between Japanese dance and naginata are also held in the garden, so it's recommended to visit according to the season.

In addition, there are many restaurants and cafes in the area, so you can enjoy delicious food while sightseeing.

For example, at the "TAMAMO MUSIC FES," a music event is held, and at "SANUKIReMIX," traditional craftsmen and local industries collaborate with world-renowned artists and creators to create new high added value. In addition, tea ceremonies and music events are also held at Tamamo Park. You can check event information on the official website or at tourist information centers.
