A holy site for Ryoma fans! The Sakamoto Ryoma statue stands proudly, overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean. This statue was built in 1928 through fundraising efforts by young people in Kochi. There is also a memorial hall nearby, with almost all of its exterior covered in glass.

Access in about 30 minutes by car from Kochi IC!
There are several ways to access the Ryoma Sakamoto statue. You can take a bus from JR Kochi Station or Harimaya Bridge, drive about 30 minutes from Kochi IC on the Kochi Expressway, or take a taxi or car from Kochi Ryoma Airport, which takes about 30 minutes. If you are using public transportation, the bus is convenient. You can take a bus from JR Kochi Station to the Ryoma Sakamoto statue in about 40 minutes. If you are using a private car or rental car, access from Kochi IC on the Kochi Expressway is smooth. After getting off at Kochi IC, follow the road signs and drive for about 30 minutes to reach the Ryoma Sakamoto statue. Parking is also available, making it convenient to visit by car. Access is also possible from Kochi Ryoma Airport. You can arrive at the Ryoma Sakamoto statue in about 30 minutes by taxi from the airport. Rental car services are also available.
