Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum Focus on the Distinctive Dinosaur Hall!
This dinosaur dome can be said to be the symbol of the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum. Inside the dome, dinosaur skeletons are on display, but no pillars or anything else that would obstruct the view of the skeletons are used. This modern and cool exhibition room was designed by the famous architect Kisho Kurokawa. The Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum is highly regarded not only as a dinosaur museum but also as an architectural masterpiece!
Point 2

Excitement Over the Abundance of Dinosaur Skeletons!

Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum Excitement Over the Abundance of Dinosaur Skeletons!
The biggest attraction of the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum is undoubtedly the large number of dinosaur skeletons. There are far more dinosaur skeletons on permanent display than at dinosaur exhibitions held in Tokyo and elsewhere. You can observe up close the full-body skeletons of large Brachiosauruses, as well as the Tyrannosaurus rex, which is synonymous with dinosaurs, and Fukuisaurus, which was discovered in excavations in Fukui Prefecture! It's an area that children will also be delighted with.
Point 3

Enrich Your Learning with Museum Courses!

Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum Enrich Your Learning with Museum Courses!
At the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, you can attend lectures on dinosaurs and the formation of the Earth given by museum researchers and external lecturers. There are also interactive nature classes for elementary school children and their parents. If you attend a total of 10 of these museum courses, you can receive a certification. If you love dinosaurs and natural history, why not visit the museum multiple times?
Point 4

Tracing the History of Life!

Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum Tracing the History of Life!
One of the attractions of the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum is that you can learn about the history of life, not just dinosaurs. It's said that the Earth was born 4.6 billion years ago, and you can learn in detail about what kind of life was born and extinct during that long history, and how we humans were born. You can learn through exhibits such as life-size dioramas, making it enjoyable not only for adults but also for children.
Point 5

The Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum has a large museum shop called DINO STORE. Popular items include the dinosaur voice acrylic stand and Fukuiraptor soft model, which can only be purchased here. For children, the Tyrannosaurus figure is especially popular. With so many limited edition items, even window shopping at this museum shop is a lot of fun.
Point 6

Powering Up Even More from July 2023!

Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum Powering Up Even More from July 2023!
Unfortunately, the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum is undergoing significant renovations from December 2022. However, it will return in July 2023 with a major power-up! There will be new areas, such as facilities where you can observe dinosaurs moving on a huge three-sided screen and a dinosaur research laboratory. We strongly recommend visiting the renovated dinosaur museum, along with the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Fukui Prefecture in 2024!
