23/4/17、18訪問 県道341号から歩いて行くと、少しして駐車場があり、その手前の右手からちょっとした登山ルートになっています。階段が続くので結構しんどい思いをしながら登った先に東屋があり、角館の街を一望できます。桜のシーズンに行ったので桧木内川沿いのソメイヨシノが連なった様が美しく、武家屋敷エリアの所々に散見される枝垂桜も併せて街が桜でいっぱいになって素晴らしかったです。 この東屋からもう少し登った先にあるのが古城山城跡で、何もない広場ですが、姥桜が美しい姿で咲き誇っていました。コレは必見です。 実は、最初に訪問した際は、さらに登るのが面倒になってそこまで行かなかったのですが、次に登った際に、地元の方に姥桜の存在を教えて頂き行ってみた次第です。 22年よりも23年の方がよりピンクになって花も多いので綺麗だよと仰っておりましたが、まさにその通りで、大変満足しました。 桜シーズンでは絶対に外さないで頂きたいスポットです。

花見時に街から見ると、山がピンク色に見えるほど桜が密生しています。遊歩道を山頂に向かって登りながら、静かに桜が愛でられます。山頂付近には、東屋やベンチが設置されており、角館の街並みと桜が楽しめます。遊歩道入り口から山頂まで、徒歩約20分です。ファイトー!
