白兎神社は、大兎大明神あるいは兎の宮白兎大明神といわれ、神話「因幡の白うさぎ」の舞台であり、古事記や日本書記に記される由緒明らかな神社です。神話にちなみ、皮膚病ややけどなどに効く神社として信仰されてきました。 境内へ続く道沿いには、神話・因幡の白うさぎで、うさぎが傷口を洗い、治療したといわれる「御身洗(みたらし)池」があり、季節を問わず水位が一定で、不減不増の池といわれています。

大寒波が訪れた日にお邪魔しました。 皆生温泉から大阪へ帰る道中にあるので立ち寄りやすかったです。 小さな神社のようですがお土産がたくさん置いてある道の駅もあり、観光バスも数台止まり、活気はありました。 神社の鳥居越しに見える日本海が圧巻でした!

因幡の白うさぎの舞台であり古事記や日本書紀に記される由緒明らかな神社です。 境内に続く道沿いに色々なうさぎの石像がありかわいいですね。 うさぎの上に白い石がたくさん置かれています。 神話に登場する大国の主と八上姫の縁結びの神様と言われている白うさぎとの事で恋人の聖地になっているみたいです。 鳥取市内から車で20分ほどで行け道の駅の敷地内に神社はあります。
