There are several famous gourmet dishes in the Oboke Iya area, but three in particular are worth trying. The first is "Soba from Iya", which has less binder compared to regular soba, allowing you to taste the natural sweetness of the soba. The second is "Dekomawashi", which involves grilling miso-covered tofu and sweet potatoes on a skewer over a hearth, making it a fun dish to eat. History

Oboke and Iya Onsen Village Hot Springs that Gush in a Breathtaking Valley
Hot Springs that Gush in a Breathtaking Valley
Oboke Onsen is a hot spring that gushes in Oboke, which was created over a long period of time by one of Japan's three greatest raging rivers, the Yoshino River. A public inn called "Sunriver Oboke" opened in 1979 (Showa 54), and since then, hot spring inns have been built in the surrounding area, creating the current Oboke and Iya Onsen area. The surrounding area is filled with beautiful valleys and nature, making it the perfect hot spring to relax and take a break after sightseeing.

Access

Oboke and Iya Onsen Village Recommended Access by Car
Recommended Access by Car
Oboke is located in the mountainous area near the center of Shikoku, making it difficult to access by means other than car. If traveling by car, it takes about 2 hours from Tokushima or Takamatsu city, and you can arrive by getting off at the Ikawa-Ikeda IC and proceeding along National Route 32. If traveling by train, you can get relatively close by getting off at JR Oboke Station, but since the number of trains is limited and timing can be difficult to coordinate, it's more convenient and enjoyable to travel by car.
