One of the three most beautiful pine groves in Japan.
Approximately one million Japanese black pines have been planted along a 4.5 km stretch along the Karatsu Bay for wind and tide protection. It is said that Toyotomi Hideyoshi passed through this pine forest during his invasion of Korea, and there are several legends associated with him. This pine forest, rich in nature and history, is the perfect place for a drive!

The Rainbow Pine Forest in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, is a beautiful coastline with white sandy beaches and lush green pine forests overlooking the sea. The pine forest, which stretches for about 4 km, has been selected as one of Japan's 100 best white sand and green pine forests and one of Japan's three largest pine forests. About 1,000 pine trees are planted along the coastline, which is also known for its beautiful sunsets. There are also many restaurants and cafes in the area where you can enjoy dishes made with squid from Yobuko, so you can enjoy a meal while sightseeing!

Parking

Use the Convenient Parking
In the vicinity of Niji no Matsubara, there are two free parking lots available: Niji no Matsubara Park Parking Lot and Matsubara Beach Parking Lot. The Niji no Matsubara Park Parking Lot is located right in front of the park. The Matsubara Beach Parking Lot is a little further away from the beach, but it's only a two-minute walk away. Both parking lots can accommodate about 100 cars and are perfect for exploring the surrounding area on foot!

Access

Visit the Easily Accessible Nijinomatsubara
Nijinomatsubara is a tourist spot with good accessibility. If using public transportation, it takes about 70 minutes by JR train from Saga Station to Karatsu Station, and then about 20 minutes by bus and on foot to get to Nijinomatsubara. It is also recommended to visit by car. There are two large free parking lots in the surrounding area, making it easy to come and go from the spot.

唐津湾に面する広大な松原。 日本三大松原の1つで、国の特別名勝にも指定されています。 17世紀初頭に唐津藩の初代藩主「寺沢広高」によって防風林として松の木が植樹されたことがこの松原の始まりで、海岸沿いの約4.5kmの区間、弧を描くように約100万本のクロマツが生い茂り美しい景観を形成しています。 実際に松原に足を踏み入れて波の音を聴きながら散策を楽しむのも良いですし、近隣の唐津城の高台からそのパノラマを楽しむのも良いですよ。 松原の中は建物は少なく、飲食店もほとんどありませんが、ご当地グルメ「からつバーガー」を販売するキッチンカーのお店があるので、立ち寄ってみるのも良い思い出になるかと思います。 ■料金:無料 ■アクセス性:JR筑肥線「虹ノ松原駅」下車1分、「東唐津駅」、「浜崎駅」からも徒歩でアクセス可能

2024/06/23 大阪からの観光者 浜崎駅から唐津駅方面に向けて歩いた。 途中からつバーガー食べたり、写真撮ったりしながらで所要時間1時間半ぐらい 小雨降ってたけど、それはそれでアリだった。 天気に恵まれなかったので、砂浜に出たときの景色は残念だった。どんよりしてた( ゚д゚ ) 正直景色は代わり映えしないので、砂浜歩いたり、道路側歩いたり、真ん中歩いたりとウロウロしてた。 道中誰ともすれ違うこと無く、雨音だけが聞こえる中穏やかな気持ちで過ごせた(´・ω・`) ところどころ泥濘んでるところがあったけど、基本的には歩きやすい道だった

2025年2月1日 夫婦旅行二日目唐津城近くにある日本三大松原の一つ 気比の松原は見たことないが100万本の松原は壮大でした。 唐津城から見ると広さがよくわかります。
