In the winter of 2022, the special exhibition "Kodate Katen Special Exhibition Yamanouchi Jomon" was held, which showcased about 100 Jomon period artifacts (pottery, earthenware, stone tools, etc.) excavated from the Isemiya site, Sano site, and Kamibayashi Nakamichi Minami site. Parking

Free Parking Available
The Shiga Kogen Roman Museum has a free parking lot with space for 60 cars. The museum is located a 15-minute drive from the Shinshu Nakano IC on National Route 292. While it is possible to use public transportation, there are few trains and buses, so we recommend accessing the museum by car. The parking lot for Jigokudani Monkey Park is also nearby, so if the museum's parking lot is full, you can use that one instead.

Admission Fee is 500 yen for Adults
The admission fee for the Shiga Kogen Roman Museum is 500 yen for adults and 300 yen for elementary and junior high school students. Groups of 20 or more receive a 50 yen discount from the regular fee. The museum is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but visitors must enter by 4:30 p.m. The museum is closed every Thursday, but it may also be closed irregularly for exhibit changes, so it's recommended to check the opening information before going.

Since there aren't a large number of works in each collection, you can finish seeing them all in about two hours. Many people will have enough time even if they read the captions and take it slowly for three hours. There are also nearby tourist spots such as the Jigokudani Monkey Park and Nozawa Onsen, so you can visit multiple spots in one day.
