水戸徳川家に伝わる宝物・美術品や甲冑・刀剣類、古文書などを保存展示する博物館。前身の徳川博物館の開館が1977年ですから、間もなく50年を迎える歴史あるミュージアムです。 館内では水戸徳川家の歴史のほか、光圀公や斉昭公、最後の将軍徳川慶喜などにまつわる品々が数多く展示されていました。徳川家康着用の鎧兜・具足などもあって、歴史的にも貴重な展示が並んでいるのだと思います。 入館料2500円はやや高い気もしますが、これだけの品々の維持管理にはそれだけの費用がかかることもあるのでしょう。 展示品の目玉の一つに、「大日本史」の版木があります。 かの光圀公が精魂を傾け、後代の藩主によって完成された大日本史。本紀・列伝合わせて243巻におよぶ労作の版木は、彰考館の文庫にて保管されていましたが、1945年の戦災を受けて焼失し、わずかに2枚しか残っていません。 黒焦げになってかろうじて残った2枚の版木を見ていると、世の無常を感じずにはいられませんでした。

2025年1月12日、午後訪問 水戸市、偕楽園の西にあるミュージアム 当日は自転車で付近を回りこちらに来やしたよ 15年ぶり位に来たけど入場料が2500円でビックリ!経営が相当きびしあのかなあ? さて館内には水戸徳川家伝来の品々や資料が色々とありまた刀剣乱舞に出てくる刀も展示してあってキャラクターとのフォトスポットもありやしたよ 館内は人がそこそこおり色々な展示をじっくり見られて良かったさあ
