駐車場に車を置き、歩いて橋を渡り宿場町の通りに入った瞬間、タイムスリップしてしまう感覚がいつ来てもよいですね。よくこれだけ保存できたものかと感心します。明治天皇も立ち寄った歴史的価値のある建物ものあるので是非立ち寄ってください。本陣は近代の再建なので外から見る程度でよいかと。

日本初の重要伝統的建造物群保存地区、中山道69次の江戸から数えて42番目の妻籠宿。一番近い駐車場は町営第二駐車場(有料500円)で徒歩で3~4分でツツジ街道まで行けます。寺下の町並みを歩きたい人は中央駐車場を利用するとても便利です。古い街並みが残っていますね、地元民の努力で今も健在です。貴重な文化や建物を見る事もでき、休憩場所やベンチなども用意されており、とても味わいのある街並みです。食事処 お土産 歴史資料館などもあり庭先の松は手入れがされており見事でした。

ずっと以前から行ってみたかった妻籠宿。 12月平日にやっと来れました。 お天気は風もなく快晴☀️ 平日とあって観光客もまばら。 名古屋から特急で中津川駅。乗り継ぎで南木曽駅。そこからバスで妻籠宿乗り継ぎもスムーズでした。 素敵な宿場町ですね。癒されます。 この宿場町を守っている皆さんに感謝です。
