久しぶりに見学に来ましたが、綺麗で開放的な施設で過ごしやすい施設になっていました。傾斜地に建てられているため、屋上のスペースは東側の道路からのアクセスが良く、カフェも併設されているので休憩に最適です。 東山魁夷館が隣接しており、独特の日本画は心を穏やかにさせてくれます。

こちらで開催された池上秀畝展に宮内庁管理の作品「国之華」が展示されるとのことで長野まで行きました。皇族の結婚式と国賓が来るときにしか使わない屏風を目の前でゆっくり見れて圧巻でした。 美術館は広々とした素晴らしい建築で、長野の空気感を存分に活かした「霧の彫刻」というダイナミックな演出が1時間ごとに行われます。これが大変かっこいい。素晴らしいアトラクション! 無料解放されている部分や庭園に椅子などが多いことも素晴らしいです。併設の公園については別にレビューします

12月平日。 一般者用の駐車場は無い。善光寺北側の第一駐車場の裏にある「アットパーク北参道」が6時間500円でオススメ。 とにかく美しい美術館だ。しかも「本館」と「東山魁夷館」を合わせて700円って。 基本、写真撮影はNGなのだが、少しだけOKな作品と場所があったので、UPしておこう。
