Miyajima

The Mt. Misen Ropeway is a 1.6km-long cableway that connects the Shishiiwa Observatory, located at an altitude of 433m, by changing two cable cars. Miyajima Aquarium is an aquarium that houses 13,000 fish and animals of 350 species, including seals, sea lions, otters, and more. The sea creatures swim energetically in the tanks. In addition, there is an interactive corner where you can actually touch the creatures. It's recommended for families and couples.

Miyajima Pier is the gateway to Miyajima and serves as the ferry terminal. It takes about 10 minutes by ferry from Hiroshima City. In Miyajima, you can enjoy visiting shrines and temples such as the World Heritage Site Itsukushima Shrine and the Itsukushima Shrine, as well as local specialties such as Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki and oysters. When enjoying Miyajima sightseeing, try taking a ferry from Miyajima Pier.
