桂川(大堰川)にかかる橋で、景勝地「嵐山」を象徴する観光スポットの1つです。 バスも通行可能な車道2車線を持つ鉄筋コンクリート製の橋ですが、遠目から見た場合に木造の橋のように見える配慮がなされています。 春の桜、秋の紅葉など、周囲の山々と織りなす四季折々の景観が大変美しいですが、有名なスポットゆえハイシーズンは観光客で溢れて混雑します。 綺麗な景色を楽しみたい場合は平日や朝の早い時間に訪れると良いでしょう。 ■予約:不要 ■料金:無料 ■アクセス性:嵐電「嵐山駅」徒歩3分、阪急「嵐山駅」徒歩10分 ■補足:※桂川の両岸を結ぶ生活道路のため、多くの車が行き交います。通行にはご注意ください。

渡月橋(とげつきょう)は、京都の嵐山に位置する歴史的な木造の橋。名前の由来は「月が橋を渡るように見える」という美しいイメージからきています。紅葉真っ盛りの12月4日に伺いましたが、身動きできない様を想像していましたが、例年の紅葉時期からは、遅くずれていた事もあり、平日という事もあって、そこそこスムーズにわたることが出来ました。 橋の長さは約155メートルで、木造のデザインが美しい。自然と調和した嵐山と桂川の風景を楽しむことができます。渡月橋の周辺には天龍寺、竹林の小径、嵐山公園など多くの観光スポットがあります。散策を楽しむのに最適な場所で、舟遊びで楽しんでられる人々も多いです。ただ、ボートでは、余り下流に近づかないようにしましょう。一応、杭で停められますが、そこにはまるとかなりの腕力のある人で無いと上流に抜け出すことは出来ません。但し、見張ってくれていますので、写真の様に助けに来てもらえますので、ご心配なく。渡月橋は嵐山駅から徒歩数分の場所にあり、アクセスが非常に便利です。周辺にはカフェやレストランなど、多くの観光スポットがあり、散策を楽しむのに最適な場所で、多くの人で賑わっていますね。

美しく、とても風情のある橋です。 2024/12/08(日) 今年は紅葉の時期が例年よりもずれ込み恐らく最終週ぐらいかと。 午後からはあいにくの雨となり、とても寒く、 食べ歩き等は満足に出来ませんでしたが、 雨が上がったタイミングでとても綺麗な虹を見る事が出来ました。 天候の兼ね合いもあるのか? 人混み具合は想像より控えめな印象でした。
